Qt/Qtopia / Vncserver In Zaurus Sl-c3100

Hello everyone,

I've installed the ipk package "fbvncserver-c3000_0.9.4-0.2_arm" in a Zaurus sl-c3100 with X/Qt already installed.

I start the VNC Server in normal mode, and it seems to work, but when I make a ps-ax and netstat -ln to see the process and the ports, it doesn't say anything about the VNC or the port 5800...

Obviously, the VNC client is always saying me that the connection is refused...

Any ideas?

X/Qt / Awtexception: Cannot Open Xim...

Hello everyone,

I've installed java blackdown 1.3.1 in my Zaurus sl-C3100, but every time I run a Swing java application, I get the same exception "AWTException: cannot open XIM".

I've read that perhaps I must need the blackdown-add to use the X server, but I can't manage to download it because it seems not to be available.

Please, could anyone give me a working link to that blackdown-add ipk package ?

Ok, thanks. I will have a look at this. Meanwhile, I've discovered some processes that are running and seemingly they are not necessary. Killing them releases at least 10MB of memory, and when you are running out of memory, it is a fortune

I add here a script that kill those processes

Hello everybody!

I've got a Zaurus sl-c3100, with 64 MB of memory, but 30MB are always used each time I started to work with the Z.

Anyone knows how to reduce the amount of memory used by default? Because everytime I try run a java application medium-size I always run out of memory.

Hello everybody!!

I've managed a Java 1.3.1 Blackdown in my Zaurus sl-c3000. I'm using it in a X/Qt environment with a rxvt window.

When I run a simple swing application, it shows me normally, but when I touch any element of the swing window, the following exception occurs:

java.awt.AWTException: cannot open XIM

It still works, but do you know how to remove the exception?

Hello everybody!!

I could install a JVM from the Sun Web page in a Z-SLC3000, a JEODE PersonaJava, but it is similar to version 1.3 of JVM. I need version 1.4 as mininum, and I can't find such version anywhere.

Someone knows somethinh about this?

Hello everybody!

I'm a new user of Zaurus, my first Z is SL-C3000, and the first I've noticied is that there isn't a JavaVM installed on it.

I would like to install a JVM 1.4 as minimum, 'cause I'm working in a project that uses that version of Java, but I can't find any JVM with such version...

Somebody could help me?  Thank yoy very much

Mucha razón tienes en la versión de Java, de hecho en el proyecto en el que estoy trabajando sobre la Z necesitaría la versión 1.4 como mínimo...

El problema es que no me suena haber leído nada de que ya esté disponible una versión  como esa para la Zaurus... ¿Tú sabes algo?

He encontrado otra página en la que se puede descargar el JEODE, que es como un emulador de Java y funciona bastante bien:

está muy detallado, se la recomiendo al que tenga el mismo problema que yo.

Por cierto, Mimeca tienes razón en lo de los enlaces. ¿Sabes cómo hacerlo para que los enlaces se queden permanente en la variable PATH y no tenga que modificarla cada vez que abro un terminal?

Hola de nuevo!!

El siguiente problema que tengo ahora con la Z SL-C3000 es que no tiene una máquina virual Java y quisiera instalarle una

Encontre un paquete ipk que contenía un paquete IP para la SL-C860 en la página web de augustin.vidoc.org, lo he instalado pero cuando ejecuto el comando "java" desde la línea de comandos me dice que no se reconoce ese comando

¿Alguien tiene otro paquete con Java o sabe como hacer que funcione?

¡¡Solucionado!!    

He necesitado un paquete  ipk que se llama linux-wlan-ng que contenia los drivers necesarios para que la ROM de la Z reconociese la tarjeta wifi.

Si alguien tiene el mismo problema que me lo diga, estaré encantado de mandarle el paquetillo de marras.

2) qué pasa cuando haces cardctl resume? haz un cardctl [info|status]

    Con resume no hace nada
    Con info me pone lo siguiente:
                 Socket 0
                       3.3V 16/bit PC Card [suspended]

Quizá sea entonces la ROM, que es más antigua que el driver de la tarjeta wifi??

¡Hola a todos!

Lo primero de todo, da gusto saber que hay un foro en castellano para temas de la Zaurus, ya pensaba ponerme a estudiar japonés    

Mi problema es el siguiente: Tengo una Zaurus SL-C3000 y una tarjeta wifi de Planex modelo GW-CF11X que por supuesto viene en japonés. El caso es que me dicen que esta tarjeta se conecta al slot CF de la Zaurus y automáticamente se reconoce y puedes configurar el acceso a una red inalámbrica.

La Z sí me reconoce la tarjeta wi-fi, pero esta no hace ni el más minimo esfuerzo por indicar que está viva, ni siquiera parpadea el led de "Link" que lleva. La intento configurar con iwconfig y me da el siguiente error:

   Warning: Driver for device wlan0 has been compiled with version 14 of Wireless Extension, while this program is using version 13. Some things may be broken...

Si miro en la información del sistema sobre el slot CF me da la siguiente información:

3.3V 16-bit PC Card[suspended]

Si intento ejecutar cardtcl resume sobre la tarjeta pasa de mi y no hace nada...

Estoy totalmente perdido, ¿alguien ha tenido el mismo problema o sabe que puede estar pasando?... Agradezco cualquier ayuda
