« on: September 24, 2006, 09:19:25 pm »
Up on ebay a socket cf wifi card with prism2 chipset. Should be great for those kismet lovers out there. It's brand new, check it out:

Sorry I haven't been around here for a while, but I sold my poor zaurus for a laptop, oh well. I hope everyone's been doing really well! If you want to find me, I hang out in the #kismac room on freenode (where i think the zaurus room is).

Take it easy!

Guys,

It's time for me to part ways with my zaurus, I'm selling things off to pay for my new computer. Check out the eBay listing for my Z, and bid!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5863173981

I've preconfigured Kino2 and Zemufeex to play video files and game roms without having to hack around. I'm also including 9 movie files and about 75 roms on the sd and cf cards to play around with. It's flashed with Cacko full and ready to be  set up with your personal settings (mail, adresses, etc). Help me pay for my new computer!

Chris.

And bid on my other two items posted too: an eMac and XM MyFi, click on my seller id to see them.

Software / Dmblogger Install Packages
« on: February 04, 2006, 03:21:36 am »
bam,

thanks for this, i've tried many times on sharp roms to install and the packages would never show up in the package manager. these ones do, but they still don't install, i get:

"the filename of this package includes characters this application can't handle. please change the filename and retry install."

any tips? i'm guessing it's referring to japanese characters since that's what this program is written in (save the gui). while i'm up here, where do i place the gui files?

thanks very much for your help, i really wanna check this one out, quacknews is great and all, but i hear this is even better.

Windows Issues / Win Xp X64 Drivers?
« on: January 18, 2006, 02:06:27 pm »
I just decked out my pc with all new stuff, screamin' fast now. Does anyone know if there are x64 drivers for the Z? The computer sees a C1000, but the 32bit drivers cannot be installed. I know this is a longshot, but maybe some Japanese consumers are all into 64 bit systems....

I'm not holding my breath though.

Software / Bittorrent Client On Z
« on: January 11, 2006, 12:14:02 am »
Has anyone gotten a chance to compile azureus (java native) or any other linux friendly bittorrent client on the Z on any model/rom?

Just curious...

General Discussion / Linux Based Psp Alternative?
« on: December 30, 2005, 09:43:04 pm »
I checked out the product website (importer) and it looks good. Sounds like the specs of a Z, maybe a better proc, and all emulators are SDL based, go fig. Go check it out and let me know what you think.

Cool stuff.

General Discussion / Linux Based Psp Alternative?

Check out this, it was on Digg's rss feed:

http://www.realtechnews.com/posts/2387

Looks like a pretty cool little device.

Seems like nobody knows of the emulation capabilities of our fair Z's. But the article says dual core processor for a linux handheld? Maybe something to look into...

Sharp ROMs / I Met A Problem In Cacko, Is It A Bug?
« on: December 30, 2005, 02:43:41 am »
This may be the known bug with cacko that turns the screen brightness to nil, thus leaving you with a black screen. It's happened to most cacko users at one time or another, try pressing function 4 to increase brightness.

Accessories / Igo Adapter Tip
« on: December 25, 2005, 05:44:15 pm »
Ok, so santa did bring me a new iGo 3500 chrager for my gadgets and I charged my fully spent c1000 relatively quickly. The battery did warm a bit, but not more than the wireless card does when I've been surfing for a while. I got the PSP iTip (#B07) and it seems to work well. I'll let you know if I ever run into any trouble.

Happy holidays!

Accessories / Igo Adapter Tip
« on: December 22, 2005, 05:22:47 pm »
I was thinking of getting one of these adapters for a variety of devices including  my c1000. I was thinking of using the tip B07 for the PSP, but I can't find any voltage information for that tip. Anyone know where I can get the voltage info for the tips? or does anyone have any positive experience with the iGo charger or some other universal charger?

Thanks!

Chris.

General Discussion / Look What Popped Up On Osnews
« on: December 15, 2005, 01:52:40 am »
Check it out, when I saw the name Zaurus pop up on one of my regular RSS feeds, I nearly flipped:

OSNews:
http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=12978

and actual story:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/linu...xw07ZaurusLinux

reasonably interesting, though they do say that the Z has "faded into obscurity." Certainly not here!
