Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / Broken CODI Display
« on: June 25, 2020, 02:43:28 pm »
Same thing happened to me about 6 months ago. Sent the unit back to Planet at my expense after receiving an RMA number. They replaced the CODI display and returned the unit at no further expense.

I concur that there is a "weakness with the CODI screen *UNDER* the touchscreen glass such that the LCD display cracks & stops working."

My guess is that the CODI display is hard mounted to the cover frame with no shock absorbing elements. When the lid is snapped shut, the LCD receives very high G forces and ultimately will crack due to normal lid "snapping shut" action.

Since then I never just flip the lid shut. I carefully & gingerly close the lid making sure there is never any kind of jolt upon lid closing. I have had no further issues with CODI LCD cracks. Your Mileage May Vary..

Cheers,
Doug

Cosmo Communicator - Linux / Default Boot Partition
« on: February 26, 2020, 11:29:39 am »
After completing the Linux install, how do you set the Cosmo default boot partition to DEBIAN_KDE?
After boot, my Cosmo shows:
Quote
Select Boot Mode
  Press VOL+/VOL- to move up/down
  Press ESC to select

  Normal boot
  RECOVERY Boot
  TWRP boot
  DEBIAN_KDE boot
  ROOTED_ANDROID boot
  FASTBOOT boot
Automatic boot in  ..... 7  sec
If I let it go, it seems to boot into some form of Android. Not sure which partition.

Many thanks!
