Security and Networking / Help With Sparklan 802.11g Cf Card
« on: March 06, 2007, 05:46:40 am »
ztep, could you give a few details on your driver?
Is it compiled from the source supplied by sparklan?
I am guessing it is compiled using the sharp kernel source?
I am also guessing it is a firmware loader and not a complete driver?
If you can clarify these and any other points you had in building the driver it would be a big help as I am about to try the same.
Thanks,
Stan

Deals and Great Z Buys / Directfromjapan.net

Got my sl1000 from directfromjapan through ebay, arived in something like 8 (long) days, box was a bit damaged in transport but nothing was damaged in it. all in all happy with the price and the service. only other thing worth mentioning is the charger, very tidy little fold out thing that goes in japanese plugs, not 220 volt ones. it is clearly stated on the site but its worth mentioning again. had the charger for my 5000d but an ipaq one is easy to find too. last week the left sound channel died so have to check what to do for warranty, will post back on that.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Hardware problems with pdaXrom..
« on: August 07, 2006, 06:56:43 am »
I've been trying for awhile to get a deleo usb gps device working on a C1000.

probably talking out of my hat but almost sure beta4 uses udev so there will be nothing in dev for ttyUSB untill something is conected. for that to happen a udev rule is needed for the device (had to read up on this to get a usb network working between debian and a 5000d). would sugest reading up on udev and how to write rules fot it. if someone has already made a rule for your gps device (for a laptop/desktop/toaster) then that should work for your zaurus to.

there is a link to trisoft on this page

https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9038

the pdf manual is good and only heard good reports about trisoft. the restore script 'might' get things back to the origional state.

this sounds not good at all, sorry to hear about your troubles. looks like you have tried most of the things i would go for, im a long way from being an expert but here are a few other things i would try:
cacko and pdaxrom have a lot of usefull nand utilities in there install scripts. it could be worth trying to at least get something working with them. if you can even get a bootstrap image to go into flash rom then you will have more tools to get things going.
it sounds to me like your hard drive is either dead or the has a very broken layout. im on a windoze pc at the mo and cant check what i had to use to raise disks from the dead before but there is a huge amount of info on this for linux in general. fdisk should find something and dmesg should tell you if not, why not.

will try and follow your post and also see if i can find anything out this evening. best of luck with it.
