I'm looking to buy a Zaurus 3200 to pass my spare time again with.
I guess tell me if you're willing to sell and what price you want for it and we can go from there.
Oh and also if it comes with anything like cf card or wifi card.

Im located in Australia too so a postage cost rough estimate would be handy

Thanks
Rarez

You can still get a new one at www.pulster.de. Although the price is a bit high given the age of the device...

I'm leaning more towards the PC-T1 because it has the bluetooth. But I hear the downside is the unit itself is a bit chunky from youtube video I saw.
Is the keyboard pretty hard to use on the PC-Z1?

What's your opinions and why?

All opinions appreciated

Well. I find PC-Z1 quite usable.
I tried a lot of devices to find zaurus replacement (lifebook, oqo, nokia e61) and Netwalker settled perfectly for me.
Keyboard is a bit "rubbery" this meand not every keystroke is catched but I dont find it problematical.
I use netwalker almost all the time on the hand without placing it on table and its ok to type on that keyboard.

The biggest problem is battery. It takes 3-4 days to have it gone when device is suspeded into ram.

Just think how much you will type. The ugliest keyboard is better than on screen input methods (i didnt tried that sophisticated methods with dictionaries and nifty moving figures).
And I agree that lack of BT is really big dissapointment in PC-Z1. But it is easily fixable with usb BT dongle...

Thanks for your reply probably will go with the PC-Z1.

Sharp ROMs / Sharp Rom 1.02

Instructions are available here: http://figlabs.com/restore/

Since you're only running pdaxii13 then you should be able to flash straight to Cacko without doing that. Either way, remember to restore your HD first using the instructions in the SLC3100SYSPART.zip file from Trisoft.
Thanks for your help pelrun trying it now

Sharp ROMs / Sharp Rom 1.02

Hi All,

Just wondering how one gets back to the oringal Sharp ROM say so I can play with Cacko again.
I downloaded all the files off Trisoft.de but there is no .bin file to boot from so I could not work out how to restore back to factory image.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 Build 5.4.9
« on: February 16, 2008, 09:07:06 am »
Hi All,

I have a netgear ma701. My home network wifi ap uses wpa-psk2. Is this supported?
As since owning the zaurus I have not yet been able to find a wireless network.
Are only open networks supported? Or is WEP the only protocol supported on any ROM?

Are there any roms which support WPA-PSK2 and have an irc/web/email client.

Or is there something I should be doing to get wpa-psk2 to work in pdaXrom build 5.4.9.

Another problem i've found with pdaXrom both the beta3 version and pdaXii3 is that it seems to suspend and the only way to get it working is to restart.
I never had this issue with Cacko but I like the software installed by default on pdaXrom.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
rarez

Software / Cacko Rom Sl-c3100

It definitely won't run Firefox, Thunderbird or XChat without extra help. It will run kismet and OpenSSH.

I suggest pdaXii13. It's stable and does what you want (You may discover that Firefox and Thunderbird aren't what you want, though). I don't have download links/instructions, as I have never used it. I'm sure somebody else can provide them (or even Google).
I've decided to give TitchyLinux a go.
It has much better documentation in it's Wiki.
And I've used Debian & Ubuntu so I have some idea of what i'm getting into.

Will Cacko run the following:

BitchX?
Xchat?
OpenSSH-client
Kismet
Firefox
Thunderbird

Or do I need to be using a different ROM. I only just received my Zaurus today and it came with Cacko preinstalled.

Software / Question About Xchat On A Zaurus
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:45:36 am »
I saw on a site http://ipkgfind.handhelds.org that it's possible to have Xchat on i'm guessing a zaurus.
The site doesn't say what devices the downloads are for but does anyone know the answer to this?
