Sorry, I'm just looking for a straight sale.

I decided I could do without a pda for a while, which is what prompted this. When I get the cash again and I feel I DO have the need for a palmtop, I'll be getting another one of the clamshells.

As the topic says, C860 for sale in the UK...

Unfortunately I'm having to sell my Zaurus for financial reasons.

Obviously I'm a bit gutted about this as I love it to pieces. Hopefully I'll be able to get a C3100 6months down the road, but I'll have to see - I don't really use it as much as I'd like.

It's in perfect condition - complete with original box. I'll flash it with a fresh install of Cacko/PdaXrom (you choose) before I send it out. I don't have a UK power adapter as I've been charging it from USB (I find that much easier than locating a spare wall socket), so I'm including the retractable USB power cable I use. You can get a mains-USB adapter from these guys if you think you need one.

Anyway, I understand prices are down, so I've listed it on ebay as a standard auction for now. I will be giving ZUG users preference, so if you make me a sensible offer, I may well close the auction early. Depending how optimistic I'm feeling.

The goods can be found here

Any support / messages of condolances equally welcome!

Thanks guys.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Qtopia 1.7 For Pdaxrom

Any updates on this? Or even screenshots

I've been missing my Qtopia apps, so I just flashed back to Cacko - you may have convinced me to come straight back to padXrom!

Good work anyway

General Discussion / Shirtpocket Troubles?
« on: April 11, 2005, 06:24:39 am »
I had serious problems getting a wireless card out of Shirtpocket last year - they strung me along for over a month before I demanded a refund. So I definately wouldn't use them again.

For anyone in the UK looking to buy a Zaurus (as several in this thread seem to be), I would have to recommend using an importer, if only for the cost benefits. I bought a new C860 from Merchantile Japan last year without being stung by customs. If I remember rightly it worked out over £100 cheaper than SP.

Plus the prices on the new models with Pricejapan are very tempting...

Sharp ROMs / Problems With Cacko Feed
« on: April 11, 2005, 06:12:05 am »
I've just come back to Cacko from PdaXrom and am reinstalling all my old stuff, but I can't seem to get the Cacko feed to work.

If I run ipkg update in the console, I eventually get a message saying that the domain ( can't be resolved. Is there a technical problem here or is it something I've done?

Could stupkid (or anyone else) give me some pointers?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Qtopia + X11
« on: October 18, 2004, 07:04:52 am »
Hmm. That Yopy port of Qtopia looks ideal.

I know Yopy runs X11, but I'm sure a load of changes would still need to be made to get this running on top of pdaXrom - then we'd have the best of both worlds!

Not sure what the speed will be like

Anyone got some free time on their hands and fancy giving it a shot?

Accessories / Ambicom WiFi CF card
« on: October 04, 2004, 04:20:35 pm »
Hi, I've been having problems with this card - as discussed in the newbie forums... here:

The problem is more general than I first thought.

Basically I just can't get it to connect to anything. Before I decide it's broken I want to make sure I'm using it correctly (all I'm doing ATM is plugging it into the Zaurus and configuring the IP settings etc, I haven't installed any drivers).

Could anyone share their experiences with this card? How they got it to work (or how they found out it was broken!) etc.

Oh, I'm using a C860 with the default Sharp ROM (Qtopia ver 1.5.4, ROM version 1.40 JP)

OK, time for an update.

The Access Point has arrived - I've hooked it up, shoved in some settings to make it work with my router/ISP configuration, and basically just let it get on with its job.

The USB wifi dongle recognised and connected to it instantly. In fact I'm transmitting this post over the airwaves right now ...

However the Ambicom card in the Z won't connect at all, even when using the same settings. I have tried using kismet, but that (eventually) gives me a Can't Connect To Server message.

SO. Either I have a faulty card, or I've set it up wrong. I didn't install any drivers on the Zaurus, because when I plugged the card in, it seemed to recognise it straight away. Was this a mistake??? The light blinks in all the right places etc, so I thought it was working.

So what do I do next? If anyone else with this card could tell me how they got it working, it would be helpful!

Thanks for your response, it is very helpful.

I've been playing about with this for a while, but I can't get either device to recognise the other. I'm sure I must still be doing something wrong, but I can't see what it could be. Or something's broken...

Anyway I've ordered a wifi access point to see if that will help me figure it out.

Any other suggestions are of course welcome!

Thanks for repying- I'd pretty much given up hope!

Yes, I'm using XP on my home PC - if you can guide me through the basic settings, that would be great!

Hi. I've already had my C-860 for a few months, but now I've decided to make more use of it. Mainly I want to start using wifi.

I bought the Ambicom cf wifi card for the zaurus and a D-Link DWL 122 (usb dongle type wifi adapter) for my PC. The idea being that when I'm at home I can share my PCs internet connection with my Z, Ad-hoc.

I've followed online guides to do this, but it just ain't working! Can anyone talk me through it? I'm a bit confused about what IP/gateway settings to give each device.

Any help is most definately appreciated!
