Software / Blood Pressure Program
« on: November 04, 2005, 10:49:03 am »
I remember seeing a program that actually measured blood pressure by putting your thumb upon the touch screen.   I want it!  I can't find it!  Can anyone help?  I think it was a purchased program, and I will pay money...where's the link?

Software / Zgscore Modified
« on: August 17, 2005, 01:59:29 pm »
I submitted a new version of zgscore golf score program to Zaurus Software index.  It creates the file to be saved under Documents/text/plain now instead of just the homedir.  Until http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=1903 is updated, you can get the latest at: http://www.cinlug.org/index.php?module=Sta.../zgs/index.html

Software / Zaurus Software Index 2

What ever happened to the ZSI2 site, did the theme that won the contest get implemented?  What is the standard and best place to get current packages now, it seems like the old http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/stats.php site isn't being updated anymore.

Software / Added Summary Report To Glucozaurus 0.3.2
« on: November 30, 2004, 03:24:53 pm »
Hi all,

I visited my doctor, and he looked at the graphic plot on the "glucozaurus" program.  (Which I didn't write, but I got ahold of the source and made a couple modifications for my own personal use...I wish the author was reachable, I have tried email but haven't heard back...hopefully if he takes the code back over he'll keep the changes I've made.)  Although even with the added "rolling" average on the line plot, my doc said he could make judgements easier by looking at the actual data or averages of the data over "bins" like a histogram plot.

I thought about a histogram plot, but decided the actual numbers would be better, in some sort of summary report for the next doctor visit...and for myself to better adjust my insulin.

The new summary report feature displays the following:
Avg, Min, Max, #above the set upper limit, #below the set lower limit, and # between the limits or "normal" for 5 different chunks of time: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Bedtime, and Overnite.  It also displays the rolling average total and colors it according to if it is normal (green) or falls over (red) or under (blue) your set limits.  In this screenshot, the upper limit is set to 140, and the lower to 80.

Screenshot:

This gives you a clear look at where about during the day that you are running too high, and is easier to look at vs. the raw data or a line plot.

In this version I also took out the "manufacturer" specific names of the insulin and just changed it to InsulinL (Long acting...i.e. Lantus, UltraLente or Bolus/Mixed) InsulinN (iNtermediate acting...i.e. Lente, NPH) and InsulinS (Short acting...i.e. Humalog, Novalog)

This program works great when you have a meter at work and one at home and want to combine/correlate the data...if you keep it updated.  I hope that I can get my blood sugar in tighter control with this program.

Thanks to the author: bstahl@xs4all.nl

Qt/Qtopia / can't find -lqt-mt lib...Fedora Core 2
« on: November 02, 2004, 09:57:16 pm »
I swear I did this before...but what might I be missing.

I installed the qt 1.7 rpm and all the compat libs from Core 2 disk 3 as well as the cross compiler rpms...
as described in http://mcb.freewebpage.org/edslug/edslug5-1.html

For some reason I'm getting this error when I compile apps that previously worked on non-yum updated kernel for Fedora Core 2...

g++  -o glucozaurus glucozaurus.o glucopaint.o main.o moc_glucozaurus.o   -L/opt/Qtopia/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -luuid -ljpeg -lqpe -lqt-mt -lXext -lX11 -lm
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lqt-mt
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [glucozaurus] Error 1

There is no such qt-mt lib under /opt/Qtopia...my dev-x86-qpe.sh script looks like this...
#!/bin/bash
# dev-x86-qpe.sh script
CROSSCOMPILE=/opt/Embedix/tools/arm-linux/bin:/opt/Embedix/tools/bin
QPEDIR=/opt/Qtopia
QTDIR=/opt/Qtopia
PATH=${QTDIR}/bin:${PATH}:${CROSSCOMPILE}
TMAKEPATH=/opt/Qtopia/tmake/lib/qws/linux-x86-g++/
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${QTDIR}/lib:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}
export QPEDIR QTDIR PATH TMAKEPATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH PS1
echo "Altered environment for Sharp Zaurus Development x86"

Any help from Fedora Qt programmers????

Thanks in advance.

Linux Applications / Changes to Gluco Zaurus
« on: September 07, 2004, 10:38:42 am »
Hi folks,

I have tried to contact the owner of this program:
http://fiasko.xs4all.nl/

I wanted to add a rolling-average line to the graph that will plot the average and give you an additional ballpark of where you stand with your blood sugars.

I have done this and it is working well on my own personal version 0.3.1.

I would like to offer it up to the community if for some reason the changes don't get incorporated or the program is no longer being supported.

For now I've put it up at http://www.cinlug.org/index.php?module=Sta...aurus_0.3.1.tgz

5x00 Hardware / Shorted / Reboot / Lost Memory???
« on: August 27, 2004, 04:18:13 pm »
I have a stupid question.

I was walking around with my Z in my pocket and there was a few quarters and a dime in there.  Somehow one of the coins touched something (I don't know what) on my Z.  (Could be the network card connection, or the USB connection or the AC adapter connection???)

Anyway, I reached into my pocket and noticed the change (and the Z) were "HOT!"
I pulled out the Z, and it was rebooting and coming up with calibration, etc. as if the battery was taken out and put back in! DOH!

Anyway, I restored from a backup on my SD card and everything seems to work still.  The battery wasn't drained, but it was in need of some recharge.

Anyone know what I actually did?  Did I ruin or potentally ruin my battery, my Z, my network card, my memory cards?  Like I said, everything seems to be working Ok, but It'll be a couple days to be sure.

Note to self:  DON'T PUT ANY OBJECTS IN YOUR POCKET WITH YOUR Z!!! YOU FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!

General Discussion / Files on SD hide??
« on: August 11, 2004, 01:50:52 pm »
I though Qtopia only looked in /mnt/card/Documents to show the files that are there...but I installed some things in /mnt/card/usr/local/share and /mnt/card/timidity and /mnt/card/QtPalmtop etc. and when I restart Qtopia, a whole bunch of files show up ... like .conf files and .txt README files and such in my Documents Tab ... Can you keep this from happening?  Can you hide files on your SD card from Qtopia Documents???

Thanks

Software / Key Bindings in PRDOOM
« on: August 10, 2004, 02:10:47 pm »
I can't figure out how to shoot or use items in prdoom.

Does anyone have an ideal setup for the keybindings they could share?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm trying to run MaxMAME too, and for some reason it is slow as molasses.  The SDL libs seem to be working fine for prboom (Doom) though...both sound and video frame rates.  Is there something I'm doing wrong?  I have the latest of all the SDL libs installed.

IF ONLY I could play doom though, that'd be swell!

Site Suggestions, Requests, and Updates / ZUG Logo
« on: August 09, 2004, 01:21:07 pm »
Do you ZUG guys have a good .png or .jpg image of decent pixel size of the ZUG logo that I could have?  I was thinking about tranfering it to a polo shirt pocket.  If you do have a good copy, would there be any copyright issues?  I am not going to sell it or anything, just have it on a shirt for my own use.
