A CE-RH1 headphone remote for use with a Sharp Zaurus C-860
I am in the UK, and I can use Paypal to pay for the item if required.
I want the headphone remote as I used to use my SL5500 for listening to MP3s and the D-Pad on the front of the Sl5500 was ideal for controlling XMMS but the C860 is no as good it is very difficult to find the scroll wheel without taking the PDA out of your pocket.

Hi,

How old is your C860 and would you be willing to ship to the UK?

Thanks

I have been using qpegps with OZ 3.5.3 in the UK. The maps are downloaded from Expedia (illegally I believe) and qpegps can not provide navigation like gpsdrive.

I have created my swap file on the SD card and it works OK. Some people believe this is a bad idea as the constant writing to the SD card will wear it out but SD cards are getting cheaper all the time so I think it is a small price to pay. And it gives me the ideal excuse to buy a new and bigger SD card.

You don't need to add a swap partition you can just add a swap file in your existing partition.
The instructions can be found here:
https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Creating_a_Swap_File

I also believe you can use a program called qswap but I have never tried this.

I used to have this problem until I created a swap file on my sd card.  I created a swap file of 8Meg and this made the OZ much more stable. I also do not think it is OZ that is crashing it loks like opie crashes but there is no way of restarting it without connecting via SSH (or flicking the battery switch).

I'm here in Blackpool with a SL5500 and I am just modifying a universal car PDA holder to include a Sharp IO connector so I can use my external RS232 GPS receiver.

Have you tried re-installing gpsd 2.20 from the OZ feed and then replacing the gpsd binary in /usr/sbin with the one from hvontres?
This worked very well for me. If you leave the name as gpsd then it should work. you may need to modify the /etc/init.d/gpsd script to point at the correct serial port. If you are using a device that connects to the Sharp IO port then you will need to set it to /dev/ttyS0 if you are using a CF card then typically you would use /dev/ttyS0. I am using the Sharp IO port and I found that I had to use the following command to set the serial port speed: stty -F /dev/ttyS0 4800 I also created a sym link file in the dev folder like this ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/gps.

I hope this helps.

Hi i have a serial NMEA device as below.
GlobalSat BR-304
http://www.selective.co.nz/gpsbr304.html

It can use either SIRF II binary or NMEA if I cat /dev/ttyS0 whilst qpegps is running I can see the NMEA data stream. I have also tried this device on a Laptop running gpsdrive and it works fine.

I guess I should install the gpsd from the OZ feed and telnet into GPSD and see what data that returns.

Software / Any Need To Keep The .ipk Files?

You can safely remove the ipk files like you say you will only need them if you need to re-install that application.

I did just try it and it does run and qpegps can get data from it but the lon and lat cordinates returned are incorrect.
