The spec:

It seems to be an interesting machine, what I wonder is the real performance.

Hopefully Brett at Conics will realize that if *bsd supports this device relatively well, then some (rich) people out there might be buying them!

I've tested the UX90 (16GB flash drive) model with olive:
[a href=\"http://downloads.conics.net/sony-ux/olive/]http://downloads.conics.net/sony-ux/olive/[/url]

it might take me a while to test the others, but I'll see if I can do it soon.

Does anyone know the amount customs will charge to bring this through (anticipating around $900AUD to purchase)

[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=126862\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Hello,

Customs duty into Australia will vary from state to state and city to city....

When we send packages in to the capital cities usually customers report they pay :
GST + occasionally a $50 customs clearance fee on any item valued over $900 AUD (including the postage cost).

however, Brisbane seems not to charge any fees (no GST or clearance)....
(from what I have heard back)

Further away from a capital city and usually customers will never pay any fees:
When I send packages to people on the Sunshine Coast or friends on the Gold Coast they have never paid tax even on $2000+ laptops and cameras etc.

regards,
-Brett
(edited>> and if you were wondering, yes, we did declare full value on the $2000+ items, and it was customs who decided not to charge the tax.... for unknown reasons)
