you can get a working openvpn-2.0 ipk including dependencies (openssl) from [a href=\"http://seiichiro0185.ftpaccess.cc/ul/feed/]My Feed[/url] (tested on a C1000 but schould work on a C3200 too).

Software / Abookreader 0.9.0a

seiichiro0185, have you gotten MimeTypes to work with abookreader?
I changed my mimetypes in the .desktop file for abookreader, and removed mimetype refrences from the default imagepad .desktop file.
Then I restarted Qtopia.
When I click an image in the Qtopia Files tab, it opens abookreader, but doesn't launch the image. It just opens up with it's internal filebrowser.
Is it possible to get abookreader to just open the selected file, and not it's filebrowser?
I looked in the many settings in the configuration pages, and "advanced settings", I don't see a way to disable the filebrowser from opening automatically.

Thank you,
Jon

I think its simply not implemented in the current version. From my understanding of the code (I'm by no means a professional c/c++ programmer, but I know the basics) aBookReader ignores all commandline arguments (basically if you set the mimetype the app gets called with app <file> when the file is clicked) and so it just starts as if run from the normal app-icon. So to get it to work we need someone who can implement this (or can speak japanese to convince the original author to implement it ^^).

PS.: As i said I only know the basics of programming c/c++, so if someone finds that my post is false, feel free to correct me ^^

Hi there!

Did anyone try to connect this to C1000/C3x00.

I'm sure it can be easily adapted   .

Regards,

Hi,

I don't have one of these, but I've connected my Creative Sounblaster Live USB to my C1000. It seems that cacko lacks the usbaudio module, so I only get "USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x41e/0x3040) is not claimed by any active driver.".
If someone would compile the usbaudio module for cacko's kernel, there is a chance of getting usb-audio devices to work.

Software / Serving Wikipedia Locally On The Z
« on: November 30, 2006, 09:32:09 am »
a solution for a small wikipedia-specific server would be wikijserver: http://wikijserver.achterliek.de/ (parts in german)

it runs pretty good on my Z with the german "Exzellente Artikel" dump from the site, only problem is there is no dump for the complete wikipedia around, and so far I found no info on how to generate one. But IMHO this is the best solution for a complete wikipedia on the Z given we get a recent dump...

seiichio0185

PS.: for all who want to try it, the wikijserverl_arm_1_4_12_all.ipk doesn't work with jeode or PersonalProfile (on cacko) but the ewe version with the ewe-runtime works without problems.

Software / Aircrack-ng On Cacko
« on: July 27, 2006, 07:39:37 am »
Hi all,

I tried to get aircrack-ng to work on my C1000 runnning Cacko 1.23.
First I tried the ipk from the website, but this complains about Glibc versions and libpthread.
So I tried to crosscompile it and compile it on the Z with zgcc. But in both cases I get this error:

Code: [Select]
src/common.c: In function `getVersion':
src/common.c:40: parse error before `char'
src/common.c:43: `provis' undeclared (first use in this function)
src/common.c:43: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
src/common.c:43: for each function it appears in.)
make: *** [aircrack-ng] Error 1

So has anyone a working version of aircrack-ng for cacko or a tip how to solve the error? Thanks in advance

Battery life should improve quite a bit. What /etc/powernowd.conf file do you use?

I'm using the undervolted one from your website ATM. Right now the zaurus is charging, after that's complete I will start some tests.

dl worked now, install went fine, and I linked the script to the apm-dirs like you said on the page

my first test looks very good. scaling works good as far as i can see (I looked at /proc/zaurus/CCCR when idle and under load, and it changed )
suspend and resume works ok, and the scaling works after suspend/resume
the zaurus now feels a little "snappier" (it seems programms load a little faster, but I have not timed the loading with/without powernowd so far)
all in all it seems to be a usefull piece of software, especially as one should also experience longer battery lifetime (hopefully)..

thanks for this!

seiichiro0185

PS.: I will use this for now and report back if something goes wrong. I also will make some tests on battery lifetime and application loading time with and without powernowd if I have some spare time.

sounds good, I would love to try this, unfortunalety the download-link for the ipk on your page doesn't work (I have no crosscompiling-env so I can't compile it myself..).

I did not mention that I don´t want to record shoutcast streams only. There are some "normal" radios out there (e.g. Deutschlandradio. They send frequently audiobooks and other "spoken" stuff which I want to record. It is normally provided by a m3u-link which I can download first and then open it with Kino2, that´s true. But no chance to record.
Wouldn´t it be great to record audiobooks with the Z (best way would be a cronjob for that) in a legal way without p2p them? Does anybody know a solution for that? I think about a small tool like Winamp with Streamripper-plugin...

on a "normal" (PC) linux box you can use streamripper to record the most internet radios, but I don't know if someone has compiled this for the zaurus (I couldn't find it on elsix).

Did not get any response to my previous post so I pocked around a bit more, it would appear that the Zaurus thinks there is an issue with physical & logical endings, what ever that means:-

Physical/Logical Endings

Phys=(253, 254, 63)
Logical=(254,245,55)

See attached screen dump.

Any idea what is wrong, if so how I resolve?

looks like the partiton table of the stick is somehow corrupted. I think you need to recreate the partition on the stick.

Really?  Can you tell me how you do streaming audio on cacko/kino2?  which version of cacko?

Quote
I don't know about opie player 2 but with Kino2 on cacko I'm able to watch internet-tv and can also listen to streaming radio. I tried with xmms on my old SL5500 with OZ/Opie but somehow it was not able to play back live streams. But I don't know if this is fixed in recent OZ/xmms-versions.

I just save the playlist file somewhere, then I open it with Kino2. The direct loading of the playlist from the server via "Open URL" doesn't work, it has to be saved on Flash/Card. This is on Cacko-1.23-lite with Kino2-0.4.3c
