It's in italy and I prefer to sell to italy (the item is on sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.it/PDA-Sharp-Zaurus-SL-C86...item3a6a2f278b) so happy bidding if you want to buy.
The starting price is 35 Euro + shipping (but I've no control over what other people bid and is currently 45 euro).
All ebay acceptec payment methods are accepted.

I had similar problems building zd1211 for 2.6.16.
The problem in my case was that the newer versions of the driver were for newer version so kernel (2.6.20+).
I solved my trial and error while going back with the driver releases till I found one that built for 2.6.16.

This may not be applicable in this case but it may be worth while having a go (but don't count on me as I gave up on the Z platform).

Another thing to keep in mind ...
Cx000 devices have USB OTG output that cannot drive the usb wireless card directly (that will require the full 500mA or something close to that ... that is also related to the reception quality).
You will need an externally powered hub to get anywhere. Alternatively you can try a hardware mod to the usb power circuitary (like I did) but the latter will can have trouble with some kernels that are aware of the OTG capabilities of the Z hardware (I had trouble while testing 2.6.2x kernels).

« on: July 18, 2008, 02:09:39 pm »
I've a c760 with some hardware problems (broken audio and some odd thing with nand that can only boot by using u-boot).
I don't mind the u-boot thing because I like to run pdaxrom beta4 or above on it.
I've the 220V charger and the original 100V charger.
Would you be intrested ?

It's in italy (near Turin) but I can ship world wide (but you are in italy too ... or not ?).
You can pay me with poste pay recharge, bank money transfer or send me chash.

I've not decided the price ... you shoot firs and I'll tell you if I find it reasonable.

Ok .... as far as I'm concerned ASUS is still violating GPL as what I managed to download is broken:

And the same unzip tool did extract correctly some of the other zipped source archives downloaded from ASUS.

Asus Eee PC / Alternative Distros
« on: June 04, 2008, 10:32:08 am »
For those who like Slackwre there ale other alternatives to slackx (which I found not to have the correct driver for the eeepc atheros card).

Apart from doing things from scratch from current  these guys have gotten things working correctly out of the box:
http://slackeee.strangled.net/

In fact thanks to these dudes i revisited the madwifi-nr-r3366+ar5007 driver which dew to pci express hotplug I was unable to get working the first time I attempted.

Since I've gotten wifi working correctly the full sources have become just a matter of principle.
As far as I'm concerned I will keep on attempting the source download just to check out that asus is not violtinng GPL.

Incidentally although I had previously tried out  madwifi-nr-r3366+ar5007 I was unsuccessful on the first attempt becuse of the way the pciehp module was loaded.

modprobe pciehp pciehp_force=1

will load pciehp module in a way that will handle correctly the theros cardo onnce turned on trough the proc interfce.

The  madwifi-nr-r3366+ar5007 driver works much better then the madwifi-ng-r2756+ar5007 which did work but at the cost of a lot of noise on the kernel ring buffer and instability upon module unload.

As I've said before I will update info on my homepage when i get back home.

Still no go in getting the sources .... can anyone get me the sources used by ASUS for the wifi card ?

I did a little debugging on it and it appears that they are using a different hal but the hal module is GPL ... so I guess tht appart from the closed source stuff inside it they are using some sort of modified madwifi version.

I'd like to have a look at it to see if I can get it working any better on newer kernels (modules provided by asus are unusable on newer kernels).

I will try a few more times with wget (although when site supports resume generally firefox can handle it).

Well it's become nearly pointless as I've got almost everything working correctly with slackware ... actually I'd be intrested in seing exactly what version of the madwifi driver they are using ... as I've one that works but produces a lot of noise in the kernel ring buffer (and sometimes my eeepc does not shutdown correctly fter having used the integrted wlan).
I'd probbbly peep on how they dealt with  few other things like the video card driver they used ... I got mynne from here (although the i810 driver did work correctly):
git-clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel

As soon as i get back home I'll update the eeePC part of my homepage with all the new stuff I did while in vacation.

I've been trying to download the full sources made avalible from ASUS .... it's been a no go
The best I can manage is get about 1Gb (of the 1.7Gb) and then the download freezes.

Anyone got a working link to the full sources used for eeepc ?

Asus Eee PC / Trouble With 8gb Sdhc Card
« on: May 25, 2008, 01:41:34 pm »
Hum ... it appears that the disk geometry that the partition table reports is ither incorrect or incompatible with linux.

I wiped out the whole partition table data stuff by writing 0 ro the first 10Mb of the disk with this:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/<whatever it is on your sustem> bs=1024 count=10240

Then I used fdisk to make a new empty dos layout and then created the linux partition and swap ... since then I've been able to reboot without getting file system corruption.

So I now have my slack 12.1 on the 8Gb SDHC.

Anyone else experiencing problems with SDHC cards ?

I'm getting file system corruption when I shutdown system running on the SDHC card.
So far I've been able to fixit by running fsck -y from xandros on SSD.

Anyone had similar problems or know hot to work around the problem ?
