Angstrom & OpenZaurus / For those bleeding edge fans, Opie gcc3 unstable feed...

OK guys so i am really struggling with this.

From a fresh install of 3.3.6 pre1, i download and transfer to my CF card various libs from this feed.First thing is to remove hotplug and install the 3.2 stable feed version. So far so good......

Next i see that several packages are identifed in Aqpkg as having upgrades available. If i try to upgrade via AqPkg or from the command line, it reports that no new version is available and leaves the current version.

Also, if i try and install a new lib from the feed, again either via Aqpkg or command line, i get an error saying it cannot find the package. The Z sees them as i can copy to other locations, so the files really does exist.

Do i need to downgrade ipkg to say the 3.2 stable?

Any other ideas

Hi all

I do not always have a net connection from my Z. If i want to download from a feed like http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/openzaurus/...le-gcc3/SL5xxx/ is there a way of getting all the files in one go instead of downloading each one seperately?

Back from my business trip so can afford to \'play\' with OZ again. I recently flashed to OZ3.3.6 pre1 and have installed various libs to try and get opiemail3 to work from http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/openzaurus/...le-gcc3/SL5xxx/

When i click on the icon i get \"could not lacate application Opiemail\"

I also get a simular message \"Unable to locate application addressbook\" if i remove Opie address book and install from the same feed

i am about to install libssl as mentioned above

any ideas

did you also install the dependancies
 ?.

Please install all required stuff, (libetpan, libmailwrapper and opiemail) otherwise it will not work.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / PretecWLAN Card not \'starting\'

Been trying to get OZ3.3.6 Pre1 working on my 5500. Initially seemed to recognise cards when i switch between my CF card an WiFi card but not any more.

I have switched back to a 3.3.2 version of hotplug but my CF card only mounts when i reboot with it inserted.

My WiFi card, when inserted, \'lights up\' and cardctl ident identifies it correctly but i cannot see it at all in the card applet on the taskbar and rebooting when it\'s inserted doesn\'t change anything.

I would really like to keep OZ but need to get this sorted as i am on a biz trip next week and need full PIM and wifi

Thought i would try OZ again and in particular the new Opie mail application.

I installed from the 5th toe feed with dependencies but when i try to run the application, either from the icon or console, i get the error \'Could not locate application opiemail\'

any ideas?

General Discussion / C7xx software on 5500

Ok guys i need someone out there to clarify this one. I installed a couple of apps (Petite Peinture, TreeExplorer) which state that they are for c7xx PDA\'s.

To my surprise both run, apparently OK, on my 5500. I didn\'t expect this!

Is it just me missing something or is this a surprise to others?

I never got GAIM to work properly on any of the Sharp based ROM\'s. I do have it working, although a little unstable, on OpenZaurus 3.3.5. I agree with tumnus, it is far better than tkcJabber
