Zaurus - pdaXrom / Problem starting newly compiled snes9x with RC3
« on: September 12, 2004, 11:22:28 am »
Hi,

thanks for your hints so far, but still no luck. I have compiled it with debugging enabled and joystick disabled, it still shows only the black screen, the warning about /dev/js is gone and I can see in the console the result of the debugging: no warnings, just some output from the decompression of the rom. I don't think it is an sdl issue because I could compile newvox without problems.

I also compiled the same source under my gentoo and it works.

Regards,

Fabian

Hi,

I have FVWM under RC3 working without problems. Maybe try to use an alternative config to see if it works (there are a few in the screenshots section of www.fvwm.org).

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Problem starting newly compiled snes9x with RC3
« on: September 10, 2004, 06:31:59 pm »
Hello,

I am using the onboard compiler to compile some programs. The newvox-sample worked easily but now I want to compile snes9x and it doesn't work. I used the sources from http://www.lysator.liu.se/snes9x/ (tried both 1.43 and 1.42), the compiler produces the snes9x binary but when I load a rom (under X) I only get a black screen and some information:

# snes9x ~/Documents/smk.smc

Rate: 22050, Buffer size: 2048, 16-bit: yes, Stereo: yes, Encoded: no
Found ROM file header (and ignored it).
"SUPER MARIO KART" [checksum ok] HiROM, 4Mbits, Type: ROM+RAM+BAT+DSP1, Mode: 21, TV: NTSC, S-RAM: 2KB, ROMId:  Company: 01 CRC32: CD80DB86
/dev/js0: No such file or directory

I tried it with different games and had always the same effect.

Does anybody have an idea or does anybody knows the last working version of snes9x?

If anybody wants the binary to try, I'll send it to you.

Regards,

Fabian

P. S.: The undefined symbol doesn't appear.

Hello Pgas,

I also noticed that make is missing (trying the newvox example). Have you solved that problem? Which make do you use?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Kathrin RC2 available now
« on: August 31, 2004, 03:50:33 pm »
Yes, great rom and lot's of things to tweak (fvwm...)

I also have the xfree-install-problem, when it occures on the shell I just quit the ipkg-process and the software is installed.

Gnumeric works, but only if it is started from a console, not via the normal desktop link. I set my link in fvwm to first start the console and then gnumeric, that works.

Hello,

gnuplot works with my RC2, I tried the plot sin(x) and load "all.dem" and no problems (many graphics). I just installed it from the feed.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / FVWM compiled!
« on: August 28, 2004, 06:41:08 pm »
... the AA entry could be from the template he used to create the config file :-)

I tried the config file and fvwm is great. I only needed to install eterm (mentioned in this forum), set the path to eterm and correct the wallpaper path in the config file.

Great program, thank's a lot for compiling it!

Zaurus - pdaXrom / help with sdk
« on: August 26, 2004, 04:57:30 pm »
Hello,

I also tried to get the sdk 1.05 newvox sample to compile.

I got the same error as mentioned in this thread and then changed the CC to your suggestion. Now I have a new error:

/opt/arm/3.3.2/lib/gcc-lib/armv5tel-cacko-linux/3.3.2/../../../../armv5tel-cacko-linux/bin/ld: warning: libX11.so.6, needed by /opt/arm/3.3.2/armv5tel-cacko-linux/lib/libSDL.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)
/opt/arm/3.3.2/lib/gcc-lib/armv5tel-cacko-linux/3.3.2/../../../../armv5tel-cacko-linux/bin/ld: warning: libXext.so.6, needed by /opt/arm/3.3.2/armv5tel-cacko-linux/lib/libSDL.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)
/opt/arm/3.3.2/armv5tel-cacko-linux/lib/libSDL.so: undefined reference to `XSetWMProtocols'
/opt/arm/3.3.2/armv5tel-cacko-linux/lib/libSDL.so: undefined reference to `XSetWMIconName'
and more undefined references.

My LDFLAGS was empty, adding the LDFLAGS = [...] -L/opt/arm/3.3.2/armv5tel-cacko-linux/X11R6/lib [...] didn't help.

Any ideas?

With best regards,

Fabian

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wrong fonts in opie-reader and pack. man. [1.1rc2]

Hello,

just checked the bug report (should have done that before) and found a solution: Reinstalling fonts AND adjusting settings in QtConfig.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wrong fonts in opie-reader and pack. man. [1.1rc2]
« on: August 21, 2004, 04:32:40 pm »
Hello,

after installing and removing several ipkgs (blackdown jre was the last) I noticed that the fonts in opie-reader and package manager are wrong. There are only the first 2 or 3 letters displayed and the fonts look bigger than before. Uninstalling and reinstalling opie-reader didn't help.

Any ideas or suggestions which config file to check?

Fabian

Hello Sna,

I had a similar problem, flashing the sd-card with fat16 solved the problem for me (using a sdcard reader under winxp).

Hello Scott,

I really appreciate your mirrors. Maybe this python-script can help you with mirroring files.

I added pdarom\'s stable and unstable feeds as an example.

Fabian
