Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Recalibrate
« on: July 06, 2006, 12:10:39 am »
Hello, I'm using OE on my ipaq h5555, and I'm finding that the calibration is very touchy and unescapable. I have had to reflash a few times to work around it, and each reflash takes around 35 minutes ! Is there a way to shorten the number of tabs required to get through the calibration thing ? Sometimes it seems to take hundreds.

Can someone tell me more how this app works - and how maybe to hack around it ? How do you start the app from the terminal ? Does it recieve any options?

Sometimes the screen will not respond to the pointer, like if I start the recalibration app (even accidentally - grrrrrrrr), and then I'm stuck making another 10,000 taps. [I wish I could get paid for each tap.] Is it possible to reset the /etc/pointythingy file ?

ruby on rails is a add-on to ruby ( a so-called ruby 'gem' ) that is supposed to make web application development much easier. see [a href=\"http://www.rubyrails.org]Ruby on Rails[/url] for more info, tutorials.

Is there a SDK for it?

There is a php-dev package, but it has no dependancies, and the package.filelist does not list apache or httpd or anything like it.

I will ask hrw about it?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz 3.5.3 And Apache
« on: May 13, 2005, 11:17:02 pm »
Has anyone tried out the apache-php package with OZ 3.5.3 ?

This thread https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...10126&hl=apache suggests that it could work with 3.5.2 using compat libs. Has anyone tried this?

I have uploaded an Opie c7x0 image and feed to:

http://oz.hentges.net/snapshots/3.5.3-1/c7x0/

Please checkout the README for updating the ipkg feed directory.

Enjoy!

That's great! Are the issues with ALSA worked out with the 2.6 kernel, or will it still be using OSS ?

General Discussion / Rom Comparison

Being new to Zaurus (C760) I am asking the same question as everybody else which ROM to choose

Has somebody published a fairly recent ROM comparison

Thanks

I think it would be nice if someone did a Distrowatch -style page for the various Zaurus distros. If I ever find out what free time is, I'll do it up, if no-one else beats me to it.

Have you tried using aplay from the command line? It is part of the alsa-utils packaged which IIRC is part of the base installation of OZ.

enter somethink like arecord -t 10 -w greatidea.wav and talk for 10 seconds (thats what the -t option gives you, 10 seconds)

does it work?

my guess is that the gpe or OZ recorders are front ends to arecord, but I don't know for sure.
