Software / How to edit a large text file?

Thanks for the idea, but I am trying to find a solution for a friend and that is not reasonable for him.  I did find one solution that kind of works.  If OZ 3.3.6-pre1 is installed and all the applets are turned off, I can edit about a 8MB file.  I hope OZ continualy gets better, as I would like to use it, but it has problems I do not know how to work around.  So if my friend wants to do this could us OZ.  I am wondering if there is a way to free memory on the Sharp ROM as well?

So format does not do anything to your OS, only wipes out setting stored in home.  So it does not do an upgrade afterwards.

If I didcide to use Watapon 1.4, do you have packages for the games you took out?  Mainly Go, I like playing it even thou I am not very good.

How do I go about starting to write programs for SL-5X00s?  I can see myself writing programs under windows of linux.  What tools do I need for either OS?

I there a browser out there for SL-5600 that will alow me to view my GMali?  Such as Firefox embedded or something like that.

Sharp ROMs / Export & Import PIM in XML or CSV

I looked at the xml2dtm.  There is a script and a bin file.  The script just calls the bin multiple times.  So without having the source code for the bin, I don't see how I could get the app to do dtm2xml.

Sharp ROMs / Format : Mantance Menu

I have installed and unstalled a few programs, and I am thinking they have left behind files that are no longer need.  And I want to free up this space.

I am wondering what will happen if I do the Format under the Mantance Menu you can get after rebooting.  If I format can I boot again to do an upgrade from the same menu?

General Discussion / Which Linux system for my Zaurus

I have seen two others on the site so far.  The tkcROM witch I have tried both 2.0 alphas  both boot but missing apps.  Right now I am trying tkcROM ver 1.1.  It keeps flashing wait 5,4...1 then going to a graphic.  Next I will try yours Watapon 1.2.  Wondering if there are any others and where I can get them to try them?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / PIM

It is hard to write an OS for hardware that there is no documenation for.  I hope the OZ team does not think I am doging them, just trying to find a solution to a problem.  I would like to run OZ on my SL-5600 when everything is ready.  If there are problems because I did something wronge I would like to know how to fix the problem.  I got my images from http://openzaurus.org/official/experimenta...dle/3.3.6-pre1/.  And I did the "echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk" to stop the kernel print (I didn't think I'd ever have that memerized).  Any help is apreated.

Sharp ROMs / Export & Import PIM in XML or CSV

Does anyone know of a program that exports & imports PIM information into/from XML or CSV?  I tried to use Sharp ROM Backup/Restore program.  It exported the data in an un-known format.  I am hoping there is another program that exports/imports PIM data.  Anyone knows of any?

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / OPIE 1.0.3 on Sharp ROM SL-5600

I am wondering about installing OPIE on my SL-5600 with the Sharp ROM ver 1.32c.  This website mentions a Sharp ROM feed for opie 1.0.3 http://opie.handhelds.org/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/Feed.  Does installing opie on the Sharp ROM replace Sharps QT?  How much space does opie 1.0.3 take?  Does the PIM work, it did not work for me using OZ 3.3.6-pre1?  Has anyone else tried to install opie on SL-5600 Sharp ROM?  Any suggestions?

I am starting to think that waiting for a while to use OpenZaurus is a wise idea.  I like it more then the Sharp ROM, but things just are not working completly.  I have seen some one on this post using OZ 3.5.1, don't remember who it was, do you know if this will be SL-5600 friendly?
