Zaurus - pdaXrom / Beetles - Nice Logical Game

Hello

Compiled nice logical game Berusky (Beetles) only in czech language.

I just don't know how to run it in fullscreen so switch to desktop two,three or four  (which dont have pannel) and move window by alt (Address) to fullscreen
Have fun and give feedback :-)

I wanted to add screenshot but I could not because:

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Duke Nukem 3d For Pdaxrom

Hello

I compiled Duke Nukem 3d from sources and instruction from here

got shareware data from here:
ftp://ftp.3drealms.com/share/3dduke13.zip

and it works great and smoothly in 320x240 (use Fn+2 for fullscreen)
..... but without any sound :-((

Try it please and if someone gets sound working let me know :-)

Hello

Finally I have compiled DROD for pdaxrom. Working quite good. There are some quirks with displaying strings, entering player names and with delete players from database but otherwise it is quite playable. It is without sound (uses fmod lib which is not open source) but this kind of game really does not need sound for playing.

Game is about 15 Megz long need some swap space to run and seems to me it has to be on ext2 fs.

15 megz is a lot for this board so where can I upload it if someone cares?
BTW: I don't have ipk. I have only tarball.

Fixed versions will follow soon maybe :-)

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Gpm For Pdaxrom

Hello

I compiled gpm for pdaxrom 1.1.0 beta to make mouse possible iin console, but I don't know how to start it.

gpm -m /dev/mouse -t protocol

what device and protocol should I put in command to enable tochscreen mouse.
I looked for XF86config-4 in /etc/ to find out but I cannot find any.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Turbografx/pc Engine Emulator For Pdaxrom

Hello

I recompiled (after a bit editing of Makefile (I can post my Makefile)) zpce emulator for pdaXrom 1.1.0beta. I compiled directly on Z with zgcc-3.4.5 img.
It runs in fullscreen small in middle, but if you zoom in screen by Fn+2 before run, then it runs zoomed on full screen. If someone has better idea how to run it zoomed in fs (maybe by editing source) please help. It is my first compilation for pdaXrom so please try and comment :-)

BTW: Is there any console command in pdaXrom to zoom screen like Fn+2? It would help to run some emulators from script. Also there is bug in matchbox panel, if I zoom in screen through Fn+2 and zoom out back by Fn+1, all applets on matchbox panel goes away. Is there way to fix it?

There is no ipk yet ... Someone can make it :-)

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Advantage Of /mnt/user

Hello

I want to ask one thing. What is advantage to have root partition small and /mnt/user bigger? Isn't better to have root partition big one and /mnt/user small? Because when you install appz to /mnt/user symlinks have to be created and recreated after reboot.
Am I missing something?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / X11vnc And Keyboard

Hello

Another problem to solve. I installed x11vnc server for pdaxrom on my c1000. I have one problem. I cannot type some characters on PC keyboard. They are mostly characters which are on Z-keyboard with Fn+key. But not all of them. Only some.
For example I cannot type :*}_ ]<>. And maybe some other.
Anyone can help?

Hello all

Again I have problem regarding use of pdaxrom. I tried to run ethereal application to sniff some traffic. I have problem that when I try to capture packet the window is so big it does not fit the screen so I cannot get enough down with cursor klick button to start sniffing. When I try to move window UP, it is working only up to window frame.
General question is: How to use application written for bigger resolution than 640x480 in default window manager for pdaxrom?

Every package I download from www.pdaxrom.org/unstable is corrupted (I cannot extract it). Is there any problem with it?
I used zaurus.spy.org/feeds instead but now is closed. Can anyone have copied unstable pdaxrom feed?

Finally I'd like to switch to pdaXrom from Cacko 1.23 on my C1000

I just want to ask if I can get following funkcionality with pdaXrom
- sync PIM with outlook (using m$ exchange at work:-() (i think i am out of luck here)
- use Zaurus as USB key
- use Zaurus as reader for USB key
- read ebooks in Justreader in win1250 code page
- use minicom as cisco console
- view comics, listen mp3s, watch movies
- use internet through GPRS bluetooth mobile phone
- use VNC server, viewer
- use RemoteDesktop
- use Dlink-DCF 650W wireless card with kismet and wellenreiter
- play some games :-)

I put about 100 jpgs of one comics to CF card and I am trying to read it by Photo Storage program on Cacko 1.23. Is there any better image viewer? For example I cannot rotate image, zoom other than preddefined sizes, etc ...

Linux Applications / Compile With Sdl

Hello I try to compile fbzx Zx Spectrum Emulator and I need to compile it with SDL.
How Can I compile it with SDL library. I downloaded sources from SDL library and put header files to include PATH and when I try to compile I will get folllowing errors.

first I miss sdl-config binary and what about another errors.
What am I doing wrong?
Have I whong version of SDL headers .... ?
Please help someone more experienced
