Intellisync messes up Outlook repeating events?
« on: February 01, 2004, 11:18:10 am »
I noticed two problems when Intellisync transfers Outlook repeating events to the Calendar of the built-in PIM:

1. Recurring events such as \"The First Monday of September\" are simply ignored.  No more Labor Days or Thanksgiving Days on the Zaurus!

2. Recurring events such as \"Every October 23\" are translated to an event that begins 11:59 PM of the PREVIOUS DAY, and ends promptly at 12:00AM (midnight) of the actual date.  So because of this 1 extra minute, a birthday shows up in the Calender as TWO consecutive days.

Can others verify this, or am I alone with these problems?

Thanks,

Ami

I have just recieved my SL-C860 the other day and haven\'t got much experience with it yet, but I also noticed your second problem when I synchronized with MS Outlook.

I haven\'t noticed any occurrences of your first problem, though.

Which ROM/version?

As to the first problem, Intellisync appears to translate these type of repeating events into discrete, non-repeating events.  (SL-5500 w/ Sharp 3.x ROM).

The second problem you described was true of the Intellisync version supplied with the Sharp 2.x ROM on the SL-5500, but was fixed in the Intellisync version supplied with the Sharp 3.x.  I do not have any problems with repeating events on this ROM, except if I try to make an exception to a repeating event on the Zaurus, it doesn\'t get sync\'d back correctly to Outlook.  Exceptions to repeating events in Outlook are received fine by the Zaurus.

I am the original poster.  Thanks for the comments!

I must say that I am bit confused.  I have done some cleanup work in Outlook, redefined many of these repeating events, deleted some other events, etc.  And re-synced.

Now both these problems have disapperaed.

On the other hand (sigh), I notice that selecting the MONTH view (whether from the View menu or by clicking the icon) - immediately terminates the program!!!

I miss the rock-solid applications of the Psion Revo...
