Change Double Tap To Single Tap
« on: January 05, 2005, 10:53:36 pm »
In the Cacko ROM, one thing that is annoying is that I have to tap the "Qt" button twice to bring the menu up. Is there a setting somewhere to change this to a single tap like the pdaXrom?

Thanks,
Bill

It should be a single tap.  My c860 with 1.22 is a single tap.  Are you sure that it is not just responding slowly?

I have problems with this behaviour, too: Just did a clean Cacko Lite 1.22a installation to get rid of the problem, but now it's there again: If I try to start the menu by tapping the QT button it fails in most cases, I have to tap a second time! And it's not only the QT button, it's the same with tapping the applet icons.  And I can hear the tapping beep, so the software recognizes the tap, just doesn't react.

If nobody else experiences this I probably have to check this with every software package I install (I should have done that anyway, I know...).

Best,

Carsten

I think it might be to do with having most of the qtopia stuff on a squashfs image rather than the main flash memory.

I've installed an additional console app (with uft-8 support) to my main memory and it comes up much faster than the konsole that is installed on the squashfs image (mounted under /usr). I assume that there is some lag due to the fact the app/lib must be decompressed before they are run. Depending on what else I've got open and runnig this lag can be quite noticable (up to 1 second if I'm runninng cpu/memery intensive apps in the background)
