Help With Install Error For Maxima/octave

When I install these packages, i get an error:

Install error. This package seems to depend on other packages. Please install them.


Now it lists as installed although i cannot see its icon anywhere. I have to uninstall it to remove it.

These packages are self contained and should have all their libraries.

Anyone know what would generate this error?

Octave won't have an icon, I don't think maxima will either.

Try running them from the command line.

Also, what are the dependencies for Octave?
