I'll try to answer some questions.

To my understanding No one has added Qtopia to OpenEmbedded so it currently can not be built for OpenZaurus 3.5.3

I find the Opie Pims work decently on my 5500, 'Good Enough' is hard to judge.

I dont know about this, I believe the problem is with the older models not having a normal controller so they can not use a 2.6 kernel, My SD card works fine under 3.5.3

I've never benchmarked a Zaurus, I know things 'feel' faster with Open Zaurus over the Sharp based roms, I belive this is due to softfloat.

To run apps that are not built for OZ you will need to use the sharp-compat-libs.

I belive OZ has its own build of libsdl, if the guylem version is packaged you may be able to un-install the OZ packages and install the guylem packages.

The SD card problem refers to the 2.6 kernel on the collie machines (5500 and 5000D). All of the others are fine.

No idea.

Should be.

I don't have a 6000, but if you post a benchmark I'm sure someone will run it for you.

Kernel improvements are mainly to do with overheads and task switching speed, stuff like that (I think), so no, not really. However to get the improvements from soft-float, you will have to re-compile your apps.

Is there something special about his version? Yes, you could add it later.
