Utf8-aware Terminal
« on: April 26, 2005, 11:09:06 pm »
The terminal application I am using right now on my C3000, qpe-terminal-ja_1.5.0-3_arm.ipk, seems not supporting UTF8-encoded file names. I am wondering if there are any terminal applications which support UTF-8 encoding?

Also the file manager application, TreeExplorer, cannot display the files names containing Asian characters. Are there anyway to allow me to specify which font to use in TreeExplorer? Or are there any other file managers supporting cutomized fonts and encodings?

Thanks a lot for any hints!

It's not the application at fault. I have qpe-terminal and it does display utf8 characters. Also TreeExplorer displays Japanese filenames properly. The problem is probably your english conversion. it probably removed support for unicode characters and their codepages.
