Kernel Used
« on: May 04, 2005, 02:23:02 am »
Hello,

i would like to now, if it is still possible with usage of OpenZaurus 3.5.3 to move the directories /opt and /home to a sd card?
Are there any problems, that will occur when copying those directories?
I'm currently using the kernel with 56-8 partition and some applications behave strange when installed to sd card.
For example mediaplayer2 was not able to find the skins and was not able to access the input plugins.

Maybe there are reasons not to move the directories to sd card but i have also tried to install the mediaplayer2 only on the sd card with the same result.
System info: Sharp SL-5500G, Hentges ROM 3.5.2-opie-1.1.8-t5, CF 64MB SanDisk, SD 256 MB SanDisk

I see no reason why it shouldn't still be possible, that said I prefer to just install stuff to SD.

Did you run ipkg-link?

ipkg-link mount /media/card

(might be ipkg-link mount /media/card/packages - have a look in /etc/ipkg.conf)
