I live in the Philippines and i still haven\'t seen a Zaurus in the shops.  Then i saw an ad on the paper selling an SL-5500 for P 15,000.  I\'ve brought it down to P 14,000 but i still think it should be lower.  More than a year old the 5500 was given to the current owner by his uncle when he was stateside.  To lessen his baggage coming here he left the box and manual there.  Other than that it is complete.  The unit has some scratches on the screen and at the back according to him - i still haven\'t seen it yet.  Is it a good buy?  The lack of CF wi-fi and bluetooth cards here is another issue.

$170+ lng bili ko, refurbushed lang( less than 10k na yun). nkkita ako sa tigerdirect.com. mhilig kasi ako mag windowshop sa internet. CHek mo pricegrabber or Bizrate.com.. pabili ako sa US. Wala rin dito New Zealand. Mganda ang zaurus lalo n kung mhilig ka sa Linux. meron syang Terminal(Dos s Windows). pag sync mo, para kang nk Network s PC. Pede ka Ftp, Apache, download email direct sa ISP. no need for Outlook or Palm desktop. May PDF and HTML browser. No need to convert. PEde mo change OS. dami available free..

bibilhin ko na sana ung nasa ad pro after windowshopping sa net i realized na mahal ang 14k at old unit pa un so d ko na binili. instead, i bought a 2nd-hand ipaq 3730 for less than 6k. instolan ko sana ng linux pro kelangan pa pala ng serial cable. pinag-iisipan ko pa.

nakagamit na ko ng linux sa desktop ko dati pero bumalik ako sa windows. gusto ko sana mag-linux ulit kaya gusto ko ng zaurus. i\'ve used palm and now ppc pero nakokornihan ako sa kanila.

dami ngang bargains sa cyber stores pero mahal ang shipping so wala rin. ang minamanmanan ko ay www.bidshot.com w/c once had an ad for a 2nd-hand SL-5500 starting at 8k! ang maganda dito is pinas based.

ang gusto ko sana is to attach a storage brick to a pda to watch movies and listen to mp3s kaya baka cf usb host card na lang muna bili ko instead of a zaurus. wala pa ko nakitang 10k e.

may nakita ka nang magandang video player? maraming progs sa zaurus software index www.killefiz.de/zaurus/!

I don\'t if this would help I just bought mine at electroworld park square last february for 15k, though I was a bit reluctant, since the sales person didn\'t know anything about the zaurus and neither do I admittedly, I was attracked to the built-in keyboard and for as long as it is not a palm os its fine, i hate graffiti.
And now, i\'m getting the hang of it except for some things that i can\'t understand, but the point is i like it and just to find out how easy it is to manipulate this thing, too bad not many zaurus users here unlike the pocket pc

Hi! I\'m from Iloilo. Just got my Zaurus Sl-C700 this month. Actually medyo inarbor ko lang sa kilala kong Jap. Problema ko ngayon is how to change to an English ROM (well I actually did a conversion... my zaurus is already in English, the problem pa some are not working properly - some characters are in boxes, my video is not working, etc.) Good thing I found this site!

I am a Filipino but I live in Indiana US.

Glad to see na may mga pilipino sa forum na ito.

I have a zaurus 5600 using Zynergy ROM.

jerric, sa  playback ng media, subukan mo yung mplayer.  Full screen yon sa 5600 pero you have to reencode into something na kayang iplayback sa Zaurus.  I use 320x240 resolution MPEG4 with ogg audio.

Examples ng other programs na ginagamit ko:

Games: Quake, PrBoom (Doom I and II), Ultima IV, Space Quest, Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry (FreeSCI and Sarien emulator), Kpacman, Xgalaga, Powermanga, Heretic

Media player : Mplayer

Internet : Opera for Webbrowsing. I managed to compile Minimo pero buggy pa ito eh.

VOIP : Kphone (para di gagamit ng cell phone minutes pag tawag sa Phils).

Firewall : Shorewall

GPS : QpeGps and Zroadmap
