Any Where To Get 5500 For Less Than $100?
« on: July 11, 2005, 09:59:07 pm »
Ok, so I'm 16, w/ limited resources. Is there anywhere to get a 5500 for less than $100? Preferably around $30-$40. The lowest I've seen is $100 on ebay. Thoughts?

OK, I'm not 16 and my resources are perhaps less limited than yours. But if there is somebody selling 5500's for $40, I'll take a dozen.

You might be able to get a heavily used or damaged or defective one for that, but the prices I've seen on eBay are typically in the $125-$150 range (+shipping). Depending on the condition, accessories, etc they can be even higher. Another option is to check craigslist.org, however Zaurii are rare there.

Consider also that your Z will need to be accessorized with at least a case, a memory card, and an 802.11b card to be really useful (beyond PIM applications).

In general, the supply of Zaurii is constrained and demand is still high. Unless Sharp decides to release some new models into the US market, things are likely to remain that way.
