DNS & pdaXrom

I must be overlooking something but ...

One of my bind servers has the 860 connected via usb. With the stock Qt ROM putting its usb IP into the 860\'s resolv.conf worked just fine (also set bind to accept queries from the Zaur\'s IP). With the only change being pdaXrom installation, and pinging working fine to 192.168.129.1 (the dns/gateway) entering that in resolv.conf again isn\'t doing the trick.  \"ipkg update\" can\'t resolve www.pdaxrom.org - even though it resolves just fine for bind on the server.

Putting the ip for www.pdaxrom.org in hosts fixes it for the moment ... but that\'s not the real cure. So what am I not seeing?

Do you have 192.168.129.1 as a route gateway? on the Z?

route add default gw 192.168.129.1 usbd0

Thanks Stu but yeah I\'ve got that. What\'s weirder is I\'ve just installed Firefox and it\'s finding dns fine - so maybe it\'s ipkg specific, and hardcoding the IP in hosts is enough of a workaround.

Getting stranger. Bring the Z out of suspend this morning. Ifconfig the server to restart usb on that end. Ping the server fine. But now Firefox can\'t resolve anything, although no trouble at all last night and nothing\'s changed.

later: left it alone for 20 minutes, and now it works. So it eventually sorts itself out. Bizarre.

Did that at the very beginning, and the settings still show up correctly as I made them when I bring it up now. But thanks for the suggestion.

Problem is that despite all this being configured right and pingable, dns lookup doesn\'t work for awhile after the Z is first awakened - or at least that appears the pattern from the two times of failure so far, both of which later, without other intervention, cleared themselves.

I'm suffering from exactly the same problem with my 760.
Everything was fine on rc9.
sorry for no clue...
