Since it appears that I've "bricked" my SL5500, does anyone know how much Sharp charges to reinstall the original ROM??

they'd probably settle for your soul ... oh wait ... thats only microsoft.  i'd be interested in hearing their repair prices if/when you find out.

They will first help you try to reinstall it yourself.  They used this approach with me for 1 year, at which point I convinced them to let me send it in.  They installed the newest ROM 3.13 and gave me a new stylus, I don't remember the exact charge, but it wasn't much and it was well worth it. java script:emoticon(':P')

I believe this depends on whether you can convince sharp that you're within your warrantee.  I couldn't, and they wanted to charge $50 (non-refundable) just to breathe on it.

$95 plus shipping.  I just had it done.  Unless you really love your Zaurus, buy another on eBay, you may be able to get it cheaper.
