Hi,
My Zaurus is a C3000 with original Sharp system and a 64Mb swap.
When I run Visiscript  0.3.2, it complains about libqsfepj.so and libkke.so that cannot be shared (whereas /home/QtPalmtop/lib/libqsfepj.so exists) but it starts anyway : the process is running and takes 90% of the CPU. Eventually the Visiscript's window arrives 10 minutes later and the CPU falls down. But when I try to open a file it starts again : 90% CPU, 10 minutes...

Any idea ?

thanks
Manu

Hi,
maybe this subject is not actual any more, but with the new version 0.4.0 of [a href=\"http://www.mneuroth.de/privat/zaurus/visiscript.html]VisiScript[/url] this problem is (most probably) also not actual any more, because VisiScript uses now a new file-dialog. The latest version has a lot of new features and many bugfixes, check out here.

Michael.

Thank you Michael,
I Installed Visiscript 0.4. When started, it says "SlSharedManager: can't get proc entry" and still complains about the same libs as before, but now the programm runs immediately and doesn't eat all of the CPU. But it cannot open any file. The Open File Dialog lets me choose a file OK, but no file is loaded in the programm.
Can you help ?

Thanks
Manu

Can you type any text in the edit-tab-page or can you open new edit-tab-pages with the new-menu-command and can you save any text file? What I want to know is: does Visiscript 'work as designed' expect the reading of text-files?
Maybe you can try to search for a text in files, so that there some find-results  shown in the output window, than try to double-click on a line like:

files /mnt/cf/text/test.txt; line 12: xyz...

the file should be opend in a new tab-page.

Another question: did the old Import-file-dialog in the old visiscript version 0.3.2 work for you?

I have some problems to reproduce your error, because I have only a Zaurus C860 with the original Zaurus-ROM and on my machine visiscript runs well...

Maybe we can find out whats going wrong with the newer Zaurus computers...

Thank you, Michael.

Import and Open commands use the same code, but does a new (but empty) tab-page open after selecting a file with the file-dialog?
And can you enter any text in the editor?

Thanks, Michael.

1. No, when selecting  a new file the program does not create a new tab.
2. Tried saving a file, that too did not work, nothing saved. However on exiting the app, it asks if you want to save the changed file upon selecting yes, it saved it but cannot reopen it, and the changed data is saved.

any possibilities on getting this fixed? I really liked the debug features on it. That way I dont code "blind"

ok, its saving but, only in /home/zaurus directory

I get no new tab with the File, New menu.
With the menu Edit, Find in files it doesn't seem to work either. And the "..." button to choose a directory has no effect.

If you want me to test anything, just ask.

I have released a new version (0.4.1) of visiscript with a changed method for reading files (now using only Qt functions) and some more posibilities to read files (just for testing):
* Files/Open, uses the file-browser of the ZFax application
* Files/Import, uses an other file-browser (old implementation of visiscript version 0.3.2)
* filename as command-line-option, start visiscript from a shell, example: visiscript readme.txt license
Please could you try the new version, maybe the problems with the C3000 are now solved?

Thank you for testing the application!

I just found a handling problem with the new File-Open dialog: the Ok-button in the right top corner of the dialog is not working! But the green check-button in the right bottom corner of the dialog (which I was always using) is working!!! I think I have to add an other binding...
How are you using the File-Open dialog? Did you use the normal Ok-button? Maybe try the green v-button...
