Archos Gmini Xs200
« on: October 15, 2005, 11:45:41 am »
Hi,
My sister bought me an Archos GMini XS200 for my birthday...she bought it around July/August from Amazon though and gave me it at the end of September. Anyway, yesterday I was on the bus and it was in my pocket and as someone pulled the seat down next to me it got wedged down there and by the time I got it out it was pretty crushed.
The screen has cracked inside...because it's that LCD stuff...the actual outside screen is OK, the damage is on the inside. The back is also dented and the controls have gotten dislodged as a result. It turns on and everything but I can't see what I'm doing because the screen's just a black and green mess.

I'm pretty sure accidental damage isn't covered in Archos' warranty...especially as it was purchased well over 30 days ago. I was just wondering if anyone here would know where I could get it fixed or how to go about it.
I'd appreciate any help...cheers

You might try looking at this website.

http://www.newmp3technology.com/

They have a lot of parts for the Archos products.

They might also be able to point you in the direction of a repair shop.

I have no affiliation or experience with this vender.

Hi there - unfortunately a replacement screen for the Archos Gmini XS200 is not manufactured - however Archos customer services may be able to help you at a cost.

Yeah I looked there because I noticed they offered quite an extensive range of Archos parts...but yeah replacements for the XS200 don't seem too widely available

It's all sorted now though, got in touch with Archos and they're repairing it for me at a bit of a steep cost but it's a well learned lesson

Thanks for the advice thogh, much appreciated!
