Okay, that works, I guess.  I hadn't tried it.  But Dejavusansmono 13 and 18 leave fragments behind when scrolling text.  Devajusansmono 14 works beautifully.  Both fixed fonts work well too.

Interesting!  Probably not ideal, because I still don't understand the fragments on the two font selections that didn't work, but at least the others work wonderfully.  Thanks!  Should have thought to try that.

hmm. which version of that fonts? one version had a bug in rendering but IIRC I put fixed version in upgrades.

FWIW I'm seeing the exact same problems with dejavu on a shiny new 3.5.4 snapshot
with the older opie-console. The new "Console" app doesn't have this problem by the looks of it.

I guess I'll just switch to the newer Console application as the older one apears to be unmaintained.

It's the QPF version I see the problems with. Didn't try TTF so far. I can upload some screenshots when I get home.
