Window Managers

I have compiled pekwm and wmi (two window managers), but somehow they do not work, not when started via xdm and not when started with the startx command.

pekwm complains about not getting the root window and wmi dies with a similar message.

Is there something with the /etc/X11/xinit settings I am missing?

I don\'t have any experience with the X11 rom, but generally in X that message means there is already another window manager running.  Check your startup scripts (usually \"xsession\" or similar), and replace the line that starts up the default window manager with the one you want to use.
I\'ll got ahead and download the X11 rom image to see where they put the various starupt scripts, and give you an update later on.
