Hi There,
I have had my AV500 for several months now. I use if for music primarily but more recently I've used it for video as well. I have found the quality of recorded material is excellent even at VGA with low bitrates.
My query is simple really. While the TV pod is a great way to connect up the device to a TV, it seems that recording video can only be done through this device. You can output video using the phone connector without the TV pod but I guess the video input must be one of the flatter connectors either side of the phone connection. Is this right?
If so, is my assumption right that I can only use the TV pod if I want to record of the TV with the AV500? This seems to limit the effectiveness of the AV500 as a portable recording device. I previously had an AV140 which had input and output phone connectors, which meant that I could take the device anywhere and connect it up. It seems a shame that this functionality has been lost.
Is there any solution other than carting around the TV pod with the AV500? Maybe a bespoke cable which does the same as the TV pod for portability? Or am I asking too much?
Cheers.
