For one, your usb-storage device should now auto-mount as /media/sda1. Also there were no changes in udev which should affect /dev/mmc*. Tried rebooting?

Yes, I tried rebooting.
I noticed that there is a folder called packages in my /media/card folder even when my card is not inserted. Perhaps I messed something up.
If I mount my card in /mnt/temp (I created temp) I can see my card fine.

My SD card is setup with a 900MB ext2 and a 100MB swap
I think I'm going to reflash tnite and see how everyting pans out. I've been mucking around alot this last week and may have messed several things up.
