C3000 Microdrive Swapped With Compact Flash Card
« on: July 06, 2006, 10:04:20 am »
Hi all,

I was just wondering if you could help me.  I'm a big everything noob so I'll do the best I can at describing what I need help on.

I swapped the microdrive of the c3000 with a 1gb compact flash card.  I was able to install opie on it, i think 3.5.4.1rc1.  So at least I know the card works and all.

I was wondering what I could do to put the original sharp rom on to the c3000 using the flash card.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to format or partition or whatnot.  Was it a bad idea to begin with to use a 1gb flash card?  I was mostly curious, which is why I tried it.  I searched the forums for any clues but usually the posts deal with equal 4gb microdrive swapped with a 4gb flash card or the microdrive swapped with a bigger sized card.

Thanks a lot and sorry to bug,

Eijei

1Gb should be enough to recreate a Sharp ROM installatio but you will not have much space to use in partition 3 for 'Documents'.

I suggest that you do not reduce partition 1 or 2 sizes but follow the instructions in the SL-C3000 forum regarding unbricking an SL-C3000 which talks you through partitioning.
