Sometimes the GUI's boxes indicating my options and the current status for my modem are totally wrong, and tapping on the option shown can result in the screen totally freezing up, with the only solution being a soft reset.
I've tried killing any active ppp processes, and issueing 'cardctl reset 0', but still have to also tap the modem GUI option many times before it actually works if it doesn't freeze up.
I know it usually happens NOT at the time I use apps like NeIC and Opera, although using them is what triggers the later occurrence. The problem doesn't occur until the second or third time I try to use my modem after I have used them, and I haven't been able to get it under control.
How on earth could these apps be affecting the modem that much later, when they are not in current use?
Also, does anyone know what scripts or programs on the Sharp ROMs control the GUI? Is this a Qtopia issue?
Thanks,
