Opie Sound
« on: July 13, 2006, 05:55:29 pm »
Hi,
I'm a newbie zaurus-user (c1000) and I tried nearly all roms. I think the "opie and gpe at the same time" - solution (OZ 3.5.4.1) matches best to my needs (thanks to koen's great how to). It works very well and my "only" problems are - so far:
- kopi-alarms didn't wake up my zaurus from suspend (it worked with pdaxrom)
- no sound with opie (hentges version)

Something I missed to install or I have to remove? Some tweaking? A threat I didn't noticed?

(Thanks to all persons in these great forums - I found a lot of help reading it)

I had the same problem if the clam-shell was closed (don't know if it qualifies as bug). But appearently, if the suspend "on closing hing" (see Light&Power on the opie setting-tab) is enabled - the z won't wake up on opie-alarm. To overcome this problem I selected the "display off" "on closing hinge".

This sounds like a bug. Is it in the bugtracker already?

Yes I have issued a bug long ago in the opie bug tracker (#0001752).

I tried Hentges Opie edition and the "normal" OZ Opie WITHOUT GPE at the same time.
Results: Kopi alarm worked with the normal OZ Opie-edition and sound sometimes (sound stops accidentally during working with the zaurus - no idea why).
I didn't find a way to get the sound working under Hentges Opie.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong - I don't know. But it seems a bit strange to me: A system with so many "bells and whistels"  and on the other hand a basic feature for a PDA - the alarm feature - is not reliable working...
(yes, I know - the zaurus is much much more than only a PDA, but I use it also as a PDA...)

Correct me if I'm wrong.
