Pb Hard Disk C3100
« on: April 02, 2006, 01:09:43 am »
Hi,
Got a little pb with my sharp.
I tried to install Cacko on it, and when it first reboot i have :

cardmgr: executing: './ide start hdc 2>&1
cardmgr:mount:Mounting /dev/hdc1 on /mnt/cf2 failed: no such file ...
cardmgr:mount:Mounting /dev/hdc1 on /mnt/cf2 failed: no such file ...
cardmgr:Start cmd exited with status 1
HDD found at /dev/hdc
hdc1: bad access: block=2, count=2
EXT3-fs: unable to read superblock
mount:Mounting /dev/hda2 on /hdd2 failed: invalid argument
HDD2 Error !!

The green hard disk led is flashing regularly.
If i try to install the original Rom from sharp, i have HDD2 Error.
When i install pdaXrom, everything goes find, except taht it can not find the microdrive.
During the cacko boot, if i am doing an CTRL+C the system boot normally, except that it do not detect the HD.
The wifi does not work anymore too.

Any idea ?
Thx

I have exactly this problem. I flashed OZ but found the web browsers poor so decided on cacko. It looks great but I have the same hdd2 error with green flashing light and it doesn't detect the microdrive or wifi card.

I'd love to know how you solved the problem. Please help!

Thanks,
John

I don't know if this is your problem, but if you repartion your internal hard drive like with the latest oz images and decide to go back to a sharp or cacko rom, you need to make sure the hard drive partitions are returned to the default state. Trisoft has a download that contains info on how this should look. Here is the link for the 3100 files (look for the restore the hard disk heading): http://www.trisoft.de/en_c3100howto.htm

Thanks for your reply.

The problem is solved for me now too. Yes, the solution was exactly as you said. I downloaded the hard drive restore files from trisoft (kudos to trisoft for providing these), booted into the command line and used fdisk to repartition the haddrive. I made sure that everything including the ID and type of the partitions were the same as trisoft listed, then I reformatted, mounted the partitions and copied the files and cacko installed fine, booted fine, saw the microdrive and wifi works.

I'm very much relieved

Cheers!
John
