Av500 Mini-cam Audio Problems

I would like to find out if anyone else has experienced the same problems I am having with my TWO AV500 and Mini-Cam cameras.  I am using the Mini-Cam to record hiking through the woods. When I review the days hike I can hear a ticking noise on playback. The ticking noise is every second and is very annoying to say the least. When I record video on the AV500 using my camcorder as the camera, everything works fine, no clicking noise. I have two AV500's and two Mini-Cam units, the clicking is heard after playback on both AV500 units even after switching Mini-Cams. I have a call into the tech help and they are looking into it.

One more thing, some of the hiking video seems to fast forward itself about a minute from the end of the video recording.

For those interested. Archos pulled the MiniCam from shelves and will be introducing a new MiniCam very similar to the old one. This new design should work correctly without the audio problem. Resellers have the new units for testing and you should be able to purchase one in the next month or so.
 

 I also found out today that the New MiniCam will work on most of the new Archos units. Finally some good news.

The question is will this new cam work with the existing AV500 unit?

The connection seems different, therefore I am unsure if I should cancel my 3 month old backorder for the original Mini-cam and pre-order one of the new ones OR if that will be simply a waste of my time and money.

Any help would be appreciated.
