Ac Adapter Issue
« on: September 12, 2006, 04:18:58 pm »
Hi, I've received  some days ago my new SL-c1000from Trisoft  and It's all ok.The package was perfect and the product is awesome.
I also installed a cacko rom 1.23 and it 's all ok.

BUT

I've noticed strange issues:

EDIT:

1)
Suppose  I have just a little battery charge, so I put the ac adapter into the zaurus and The battery applet doesn't begin to charge...
So I disconnect the cable ( the battery is not fully charged ) the screen became black( such a suspend session ) and to use it again I must press the on/off button,it seems when I disconnect the cable the zaurus go to suspend mode.
Then I turn on again the zaurus and the battery have correctly a down charge.
Then I put again the ac cable and it begin to charge ( the battery applet of course)

Have you ever seen this issue? Do you think is a zaurus behaviour or a bug, or a malfuncion?

But the amber light in left corner of my zaurus has always a correct behaviour when I put the cable and when I put off!

2)
Sometimes the battery applet ,memory monitor plugin, sound plugin and less unsaticefactory screen saver plugin disappear from right bottom of desktop....Only with a reboot I can solve this...

Do you THINK it maybe an hardware problem???

Thanks in advance

Tommy

I have an SL-C1000 with the standard Sharp Rom, and I don't have the problems you describe.
I would suggest your problem is possibly caused by cacko.

There is a very annoying bug with the battery applet in cacko, if you set it to the lowest level, then the screen will go completely black - lcd off - when you change rotation or turn the zaurus off, or unplug the power cable - this doesn't hapepn all the time just alot of the time for me.

I just leave the battery applet at the 2nd lowest level and use Fn+3 to lower the light to lowest.

Haven't had the disappearing applet icons, but if you have a lot of applets they can sometimes get confused and overwrite each other

Doubt it is a hardware problem

P.S the zaurus manual says you should always suspend the Z when plugging in or unplugging cables or cards - I usually do that so maybe that is why I haven't seen your problem

Really?  I never have and my zaurus didnt explode.

Ref the the backlight to the lowest setting, dont do this in cacko or youll get the bug where the backlight turns off, use only the lowest but one setting
