Hi again Grog

I installed an earlier X11 image (the most recent X11 for c7x0).

Actually I did this several times. One time I noted the 2GB SD support. Going to need it, the / partiton is tiny.

One time, I installed this earlier image, and then did ipkg update followed by ipkg upgrade. It went pretty well except for some message at the end about being unable to upgrade the prism driver. I ignored this because it made no sense, asking me to choose between to drivers of exactly the same name, and not even telling me how to.

So I rebooted, I get an Angstrom splash screen instead of the old OE one. Nice. But you probably guessed it - my wifi connection stopped working.

Well fixing that is beyond my level of expertise... but I figure that this might be a route you could take to a bang up to date installation if you can figure how to get the wifi back on. Let me know if you do.

Cheers

John

I'd rather reply to the mailing list, but gmane.org is out of the loop for now :-(

You said you renamed both files to *.bin,  I think that is incorrect (I know this is not the way to go for the collie).  You should try with zImage, not zImage.bin.

I've taken care of that.

Actually the naming convention is ok, it was because my flash partition size had been changed from my pdaxrom install. I thought that reflashing one of my Cacko images would've fixed that, but I had to go back to an original Sharp image.

Now I have the latest console image installed. And it recognized my 4GB, split partitioned (vfat & ext2) SD card right away. So far so good.  Now I have to figure out where to go from here (like, say, get a gui running).

Thanks for your help guys.
