Convert Kapi Database To Gpe Equivalent?
« on: January 18, 2007, 02:50:12 pm »
Okay, so Ko/pi and Ka/pi aren't yet ported to GPE.  I'd love to use GPE, but these two and opie-reader keep me with opie.

I used to really like Ko/pi and Ka/pi because of their sync ability with the equivalents in Windows, and I still treasure that, but until I can try and compile them for GPE, but I'd still like access to my data.  I would love to try getting kopi and kapi running on GPE, but I can't afford to be without access to my data--so an important middle step would be getting the data in the GPE tools' format.

Anyone managed that yet?  Any good first steps?

How about running GPE and Opie at the same time?  Consult the OZ FAQ.

You can import ics files into GPE, I was able to do it but got some very funky results on some repeating appointments (may be related to having to sync with GroupWise) but YMMV. Give it a shot and see what happens.

However, I really miss Kopi. The PIM app in GPE is not as robust. There is a Kopi version in OE dev that will compile, but I couldn't ever get it to run. Perhaps someone else out there with better skills than I can finish the work Hrw started (he did the original work on the bitbake files for the X version of Kopi)

Good luck,
Jerry
