package installation problems
« on: March 13, 2004, 04:05:57 am »
I just made the switch to OZ, and I\'m having some difficulties installing software packages.  Whenever I attempt to unpackage ipk\'s, command line or otherwise, im getting SIGSEGV errors.

It should be noted that these files were transferred via FTP.

Also, is it standard to just create a symlink from /mnt/ram to, say, /root/ram?  I don\'t really understand how the directory structure was intended to be set up.

Thanks in advance.

i had the previous post.  aqpkg gives errors about the packages being null images.  i doubt its possible that the half a dozen ipk\'s that ive gotten from reliable sources are all corrupt.
