Looks quite nice, I like the XMB thing. A little expensive perhaps, I expect everyone will be comparing it to the Apple product. If it has tilt sensors and GPS...

What with the IS01, Sharp has been coming up with some interesting Zaurus-ish products recently.

I assume that this is another Sharp Japanese market device? ie, not intended for sale outside of Japan...

I bet it is primarily meant for the Japanese market with the preinstalled dictionary etc. so any potential buyers outside will have to rely on Conics.

As far as specs and software is concerned it looks just like a Netwalker without a keyboard - same specs, same OS. I hope they use a better (more accurate) touchscreen this time.

Comparing it to "another tablet" would be a bit of an apples to oranges comparison as the T1 runs a desktop OS, i.e. a different approach to software availability etc. so targets a different type of customer. Just my $0.02 though, but I see this more as a little Tablet PC rather than a MID or web tablet (or whatever you call devices such as Apple's or the Archos 5).

Personally I prefer to have keyboard but there is a positive thing: New device uses similar hardware. So it makes me calm about better support for netwalker pc-z1 hardware.

yes, not only does it mean Sharp are bringing out new models but also likely to have new software which could be copied to other devices; and its heartening to have a major manufacturer back linux - no sign of a winCE variant!

sadly, I would be very surprised for a number of reasons:
* the netwalkers use a much newer generation of ARM processors with new instructions
* the flash plugin might need specific video acceleration functions
* the performance would probably be too poor
* the flash plugin and all the system support libraries would need too much memory

that said, it can't harm trying
