mplayer + Cacko 1.2x Rom problems.
« on: June 13, 2004, 07:31:26 pm »
Hello all,
I seem to be having difficulties using kino2/mplayer on the Cacko 1.21b rom that I\'m hoping someone will know how to fix...

1) having moved from tkcrom to cacko on a c760, I was quite surprised to find that some of the movies I had been playing with no issues whatsoever seem to not be playing anymore. I couldnt track it down to a specific type of movie (therefore not codec related). And installing the newer mplayer did not help at all. Running mplayer from the cli helped me trace the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.
The movies in question fail with the following message:
Code: [Select]
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: mplayer: undefined symbol: ogg_sync_init
Given that the same movie files were not playing with the 0.91 mplayer + kino2 as well as the newer mplayer-w100 version + kino2, I can only assume that the same error was preventing them from being played. Any help?

2) The 30 second suspend bug after running kino2.. Maslovsky/Cacko team - has this been fixed? I was assuming that since 1.21b came out after this bug was found that it was fixed, but I may be making an incorrect assumption...

Thanks a million,
Yz

Oh well, given that no-one seems to know how to fix this, I did the next best thing - downgraded
Anyway, for those that care, this is how I \"fixed\" it:
1) grab the \"kino2_0.22_arm.ipk\" from killefiz
2) extract just the mplayer and kino2 binaries from it
3) replace both /opt/QtPalmtop/bin/mplayer and /opt/QtPalmtop/bin/kino2 with the extracted versions
4) modify the /opt/QtPalmtop/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf -] second last line \"#menu=yes\" (as the old mplayer was not compiled with the OSD menu flag.
5) Enjoy your old movies!

The nice thing is that, for whatever reason (still using the updated vidix ATI W100 driver perhaps?), kino2 still no longer has the screen corruption. Yay!
Hope that helps someone out there!
