Mie Type File Association

Does anyone know where the entry in mime.types points to, I thought that it pointed to the desktop file, but I have disproved that.

I renamed the hancomword.desktop to textmaker.desktop & textmaker.desktop to hancomword.desktop, rebooted & it still loaded hancom word when I selected a word file.

I am trying to make textmaker the default application for word docs.

No you didn't, you disproved that changing the name of the desktop file make any difference to what application is started with that file!

There is a MimeType line in the desktop file for hancomword, copy that to the texmaker.desktop file and delete it from the hancomword.desktop (you may also need to move the MimeTypeIcons line as well)

Then reboot the Z (or restart qtopia) for the mime changes to take effect
