How can I get second hand C860 operational

I have just obtained a secondhand C860, but being a novice not sure where to go next.

At the moment it boots to the login prompt having displayed Zarus UserGroup, pdaXrom and the ShirtPocket logo's at the top. The boot sequence identifies:

version 2.85 booting
mount: special device /dev/mtdblock does not exist
runlevel 5
pdaXrom 1.0.0
login

I can login as root but do not know how to find what is installed on the unit or how to get into applications/desktop manager, if indeed there are any installed.

Can any one point me in the right direction please.

Hi, I haven't used pdaxrom but try typing the command startx   - I hope you'll be happy with the result.

Thanks for quick reply. Your sugestion worked and I now have a desktop with various icons. Not sure what they are yet or how this is controlled. but one step at a time. Many thanks
