I?ve been trying to run gpsd on OZ 3.3.6-pre1. I used the .ipk from the current feed. Every time I try to telnet to it it crashes and I can?t get qpegps to connect either. My ultimate goal is to get it to work with wellenreiter currently it only displays -1/-1 as the location. The gps is a Garmin emap and I have the serial pins 3 wired to the zaurus serial sync cable pin 4 on the board (i removed the cable portion) 2 to 3 and 5 to 8. 2 is gps txd 3 gps rxd 5 gps gnd. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the notes on this page -- http://www.zauruszone.farplanet.net/wiki/i....php?SerialPort
Your pinouts sound exactly the same as that on the digitraveler GPS, so I would give that a try.  See my wiring notes near the bottom of that page (just above the section on the Nextel i88 phones).

I also have not been able to get qpegps to work.  To start up gpsd, I use the following command:
   gpsd -p /dev/ttyS0 -s 4800

Try loading the GPS version of zRoadmap.  When you launch the RoadMapGPS, it will have a single line at the bottom showing the output from your GPS.   If the data is scrolling, then you have a live connection.  Take your GPS outside and wait for the satelites to start showing up.

Got gpsd working, it  detects my gps without crashing. I can telnet in and get info. I used the wiring diagram here http://zaurusgps.zaurii.net/images/pinout.jpg along with your link. Wellenreiter gets the info but drops the ones place this sems to be a known problem. Still havent got zroadmap working. Now my next question is how do I take my session data and make a map of it? I know you use gpsmap with kismet.
