CF pin bent
« on: October 03, 2004, 11:59:11 am »
As you probably gussed by the topic, one of the pins for the CF slot is 'bent'. Not really bent, but pushed in a noticeable amount. The onyl way my wifi works is if I physically push the card down at an angle, very, very hard, and as soon as I let go the signal dies.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I screwed? Ideas? Anyone at all?

If you are feeling adventurous you could try this.
And then ever so carefully bending the offending pin back in place with a pair of jewelry pliers. The risk of this procedure (other than the disassembly/reassembly part) would be that the pin could break. Although as you say it does not work now, having a broken pin does not change that much. What have you got to lose?
