Preemptive patch on pxa255
« on: October 05, 2004, 08:08:37 pm »
If you use the preemptive patch to
turn off the work-around for the
flaw in the pxa250 processor, it is
said that it *can* cause instabilities.
If my SL-5600 has the pxa255 cpu
there should be NO instability problem,
right?

The pre-emptive patch is something different. You're talking about the cache bug workaround.

Anyway, turning off the cache bug workaround or using the precompiled Special kernel with a PXA255 should in theory (disclaimer  ) cause no instabilities.
