tungsten t stylus?
« on: December 16, 2003, 06:39:26 pm »
I\'ve read (everywhere) that the tungsten t stylus will work great with the Z.  I\'ve found one here:

http://www.executivepda.com/HTML/Products/pdaaccessories/styli/stylus.htm#Palm Tungsten T://http://www.executivepda.com/HTML/Pr...Palm Tungsten T://http://www.executivepda.com/HTML/Pr...Palm Tungsten T://http://www.executivepda.com/HTML/Pr...Palm Tungsten T://http://www.executivepda.com/HTML/Pr...Palm Tungsten T

and I just want to make sure that is the right one, and $20?  that seems a little high for a stylus... (it doesn\'t seem like it\'s a 3-pack).

thanks

The one that I heard worked (and that I use) is the three-pack Tungsten T stylus.  This one looks like it has a pen inside of it, which the three-pack ones don\'t.  That may be why you\'re seeing the big price difference; I picked up the three-pack for US$14.95.

Hope this helps.

bbenner7 - thanks... that\'s right... I remember now.  I just checked the UZF (unofficial zaurus faq) because I remembered seeing an entry for a replacement stylus.

Both ecost and techdepot don\'t seem to have any in stock... anyone know of another place to pick them up?

edit:  just checked ecost again... they *do* have some in stock... I thought they didn\'t have any because I ordered some over a month ago, and after several weeks of waiting, I checked back and they cancelled my order because they were out of stock - and didn\'t even send me an email!?!

oh well, I just ordered a couple packs... let\'s see if they come in

Check your local Staples, Office Max, Best Buy.  I got mine as Stapels, have seen them in the other stores.

Have the PDAir 3in1 stylus (both Tungsten and Zaurus)  but personally found that the Tungsten one tended to stick out just enough to accidently trigger the spring mechansim when left in your pocket etc. Depends on how you carry I guess.

Was going to compare it with the standard Tungsten Stylus, but can\'t find where I put the TT. Been that long since I last used it. Plus the battery keeps going flat and wiping the memory if you don\'t keep charging it (Love the Zaurus for not doing that).

Took a hot knife to the Tungsten model and chopped a bit of the plastic end off and it fit the Zaurus great. But became difficult to get the spring mechanism to work so you could remove it easily. Might have worked out better if I cut a little less off the end, but can\'t keep destorying stylii trying them out. Don\'t think customers would appreciate us selling them after cutting little bits off them
