Japanese Input (someting Like Ime)

Hi:

I decided not to buy the SL-C3000 because the Japanese input software isn't up to scratch. If anyone here is writing the software for the Zaurus help me.

There is no kanji search. 漢字検索

When I want to change the kanji that comes up incorrectly, there isn't a list of kanji that are like it above the writing boxes. The tiny box with an up and down scroller is not user friendly. for the "list of kanji that are like the written one".

The selection tool doesn't select text properly. When I used to Toshiba 830 or something like that it had fantastic input and selection tools but no dictionary.

I love the clam shell design and keyboard on the Zaurus and can put up with all the other thing that bug me about the SL-C3000 but if you fixed the selection software and added a kanji search I would instantly buy the Zaurus.

I don't know why but I'm not so keen on the micro HDD either. If it was replaced by a 4Gb CF card the battery time might be better. If you could tell me more about these I would be happy but I love solid state things.

If I ripped out the 4Gb HDD and put in an 80x 4Gb Cf card would it speed up the SL-C3000 or not really make a difference?

If the displayed kanji is not the one you want, you can tap directly on the kanji and it will show a popup list of other matches. I don't know if this is what you're describing, but I find that it works very well for me.

By the way, I doubt that anyone involved with the production of the Zaurus reads these forums, unfortunately.

I find the IME pretty accurate even with my dubious stroke order, and if it guesses the kanji wrong then the pop-up box almost always has the right one. In an emergency, kanji nirvana should do the trick surely (not much fun if _every_ kanji has to be looked up like that, of course)?
